And so time goes by ... Not too much new to tell for the moment, but I can say that finally today my kitchen is finished after the water problems I had in the kitchen now more than 2 months ago. So this evening I will start to reorganize in the kitchen and put all stuff back at it's place. Joehoe, I'm so happy !!!

So I hope when this is done, that I will also have some time to make some space in my scrapbooking room and then I can start to do some more scrapbooking. It has been itching really hard to do so, but there are always a lot of other things I need to do first unfortunately. But now so, hopefully soon !!!

In the meantime I have for you a scrapbooking page that I made a while ago, from my mother in the new hairdressers shop of my father, when they were both still very young.

A day at the seaside

How strange ... after almost 6 weeks, I have put foot on Swedish ground again ;-))

And I'm being spoiled. No foreign trips, so I have the real luxery of being 3 complete nights at home !! That doesn't happen too often.

On Tuesday they come over to my house to do the last part of the reparation of my kitchen. At least, I hope it's the last part, and I really cross my fingers that I will be able to use my kitchen on Tuesday night.

The layout here under I made a while ago, and you see my mother, father and a friend of them, when all of them were at the age of around 22 years young. Old pictures thus, but I do love them sooooooooo much ...

Goodmorning from a stormy Belgium !!! You really need to hang on thight or the wind will blow you away ;-))

Today it's the day that the discount bargains started in town, so this morning I did some shopping. Ready in an hour as I looked already what I needed last week, so this morning I just needed to go to the shop and get it. I don't like big crowds, so that's my way to avoid it !!

This afternoon, I will go to a shop where they are having the most fantastic needlecrafts work. Also over there they are having bargains because they are going to move their store. I hope I can find some cute stuff over there. And I'm happy that they will move their shop as we always have to make it a special trip now, whilst they are now moving to the "big" town where I live.

Last summer the sister-in-law from my best friend was getting married, and therefor my best friend asked me if I could make a card. Normally I don't like making things for other people as I have already enough cards and scrapbooking to make for myself, but of course, my best friend I wanted to do a favour. Since I have known here already 22 years, it was easy to make something that I knew would please here.

Happy birthday to myself and celebrating my best friend's new home

Today is my birthday and tonight I will go to my best friend who will cook for me, my parents and my friend.

But we are at that moment not only celebrating my birthday but will also be celebrating the fact that my best friend is living in a new house. Somewhat more than a year ago, she bought the house and did lots of changes on it, so by now it is representable (but not finished as that always is the case with renovations ;-)) My parents and friend have not seen the house yet in its new state, so I guess that they are pretty curious.

I made her this little card here under, a "welcome-in-your-new-home-card", that she will later on be able to use as a bookmark. Oh, and yes, good news, I finally changed the scanning program on my mother's computer, so now I can show you good pictures again ...

And of course here moving into a new house also asked for some presents. I made her this "painting" to hang on little cards and other notes. To be honoust, I was so happy with the result that I almost want to keep it for myself !!!

Here under you also see a close-up of the "painting". She has a country style in her new home so I think that this will fit well in her house.

Tonight I amused myself with some quick scrapbooking. I made another page in my cookery book, this time of one of my favorite desserts, being moelleux or a soft chocolate pudding !!! Mmmm, I adore it !!! Just a pity I don't have one right now ;-((

Ready next year ???

A long time again since I dropped in to write something !!! I'm now having holidays, and still as much to do as when I'm working !!! Where is that time going by !!!

A couple of times per week however, I try to spend some hours cross stitching in the evening, as this really relaxes me a lot. About 2 years ago, I started to work on this X-mas work and yesterday, I finished a big part.

I have now started the smaller part underneath the work and then still have to do a bigger part on top, before it will be ready. I'm always an optimist, so I hope to have it ready by next X-mas ;-))

And then I have 2 more of those X-mas cross stitching sceneries left !!!! Wish me luck !!

Mother's retirement and fathers day

So, right now at this moment, it was the last working day of my mother. Such a very strange feeling !! But she went into the city now with some colleagues, or should I say ex-colleagues to go and eat something and celebrate.

Friday afternoon, there will be a celebration at her work also, with all people from her division at work, and I'm also invited, although I will also be there as the photographer. I'm happy that I can hide behind my camera, because I think it will be difficult for me to keep my eyes "water-free" when they will start to speech ...

Friday evening, my mum and dad and I will then go and eat something together, and then we will hand over her card and present.

And on Saturday I have planned a surprise diner for some people at home without my mum knowing about it.

So you see, a lot of celebrating this weekend for us !!! Perhaps I post some pictures later on also ...

In the meantime, hereunder the fatherdays card that I made some months ago in June, when we celibrated fathersday. It cannot always be the mothers we are celebrating of course ;-))

Retirement card for my mum

My mum has to work 2 more days, this week, and then she will be retired !! So therefor of course, I needed to make a card for her.

Totally different colours from what I normally use and what I had in mind, but I thought the Duck picture fitted so well for a retirement card, that I based myself on those colours. And in the end, I'm quit happy from the result.

Inside I have made it simple, with just a tag with information for mum that she will receive money to buy a new television. And the money I will also put inside the card. I hope that she will be happy, both with the card, and the new television !!

Strange that my mum will retire now, time goes so fast !!

It is now a year of 4-5 that I'm busy scrapbooking, and I know that my mum was always my biggest fan, when she watched me busy scrapbooking and looking very attentively when layouts were finished. I know she, just like me, likes all kind of handycrafts a lot.

And about a year ago, she surprised me with the 2 layouts here under. Without telling me, she also started to do some scrapbooking. In the meantime she has made many already, but these were the 2 first once coming from her hand.

She is now scrapbooking her old pictures, and I really like it, because on many of them, I see people that I don't know, or she has stories to tell that I have never heard before, and this way, I feel she is slowely making a real heritage for me. Thanks mum ;-))

I have hundreds of cookbooks, and I'm always hunting for new recipes in magazines or whereever I can lay my hand on them.

Of course, all those loose pieces of paper, I want to save somewhere, so that was the start of my scrapbooking cookbook.

Everytime I make a recipy that is worth eating again, I make a scrapbooking page of it, and so my scrapbooking cookbook gets thicker and thicker.

This is a peppers pie that I had been eating for lunch, and the recipy deserved to join in my cookbook ;-))

Everytime I'm in London and I have some time, I try to find some new vegetarian cookbooks, or preferably even vegan cookbooks, as they are very often difficult to find in Belgium.

Last week I had some time to walk around in Windsor, where I also have my favorit little bookshop. Normally they don't have so many vegetarian books on the shelves but it looked like they made a real investment now, and I could find 2 complete shelves of those books their this time.

And of course I could not leave the shop empty-handed. So this is what I bought this time : Cookouts, veggie style !!

In the many years being vegetarian, I have of course already gathered many vegetarian BBQ recipes, but this book really attracted for the many not so known and a bit different recipes.

I know, we are heading towards wintertime now, and probably the book will not be used so often the next coming months, but I'm sure he will come in handy when May is coming again ...

Good evening all,

I hope you are all feeling well. Are you also still having so lovely weather for this period of time? I have been in Belgium, Germany and now in London, and everywhere it is springtime instead of temperatures under 0 degrees Celcius ;-))

Having worked a lot this week, I'm now having a lazy evening, and I'm just watching some tv in my hotel, and play a little with my laptop ... Last working day tomorrow, and then off on a nice weekend !

Long time no see again !! What can I say other than that time has been passing by very fast again. Busy working weeks always at work with lots of traveling, and never enough time to do some scrapbooking, unfortunately.

But this week, I'm looking forward to the scrapbooking fair in Utrecht, Holland this week. I have especially taken a day of holidays on Friday, so my mum and I will go over there, and look at all the lovely paper and other stuff. I'm sure it will not only be looking in the end, but also a lot of nice stuff that we will buy ;-))

We will then sleep over there, and on Saturdaymorning, I will take my mother for a long walk in the area above Utrecht, at the river Vecht, which I really adore. I was there a couple of months ago for work, and noticed that the area and nature over there are just beautiful. I had to stay there a day longer, to enjoy it again !!

And on Saturday afternoon, I will show my mum a really big scrapbooking shop which is not so far from there either, as if we will not have seen enough scrapbooking supplies already the day before at the fair ;-))

So you understand that I'm really looking forward to the end of the week !!!

Hi there !!! Don't you also like the autumn just like me? I'm spoiling myself with an early night in bed. I already went in at 8 o'clock, putting on a nice music, laptop switched on, and just doing all and nothing, really relaxed. I love it !!! This is really a thing to do right now, this cocooning, when it's getting cold outside, and it's so nice to curl up in a warm bed !!

In the scrapbooking page from today, some pictures from a castle close to my hometown. The city of Laarne is know for its witches, so this period of time, they are preparing for a fun time, with Halloween coming along soon.

These pictures have already been taken by my mother in 1969, but if you go there today, I'm sure that you can take exactly the same pictures as more than 40 years ago ;-))

Kapperswedstrijd - Hair dressers contest

Good evening everybody,

I hope you are all doing well !! Tonight it has been more than four weeks since I was home in my house last time, so I'm enjoying a quit night. Really great !!

I started working again after holidays on Monday, and have been in the company of a very nice bunch of French people, so I had a good time with them.

I'm still entertaining them tomorrow morning and then I will be off to Sevilla, from 9 degrees over here in Sweden, to 34 degrees in Spain !! Quit a change ;-))

Unfortunately connections are not so good, so it will take me 10 hours and 3 flights before I will be at my hotel tomorrow. Wish me luck !!

Fier - Proud

Today is the last day of my 3 weeks holiday, and it's raining cats and dogs. But I don't mind ... it has been a rather hectic holiday with a travel to Rome followed by a travel to London, and also lots of day trips in between. So it's nice today, to have a relaxing day at home to just wander around and do the stuff I like to do.

And since it's raining so much outside, it's just the perfect excuse to make pancakes this afternoon, don't you think? ;-))

Tomorrow, I will start working again, and it starts again with 4 days of traveling. Tomorrow afternoon, I will leave for Sweden but I will not go home. Instead I will spend my time with about 12 frenchmen that I will show around in 4 of our factories, all in the south of Sweden.

Then on Thursday afternoon, I will travel to Sevilla. Not such a pleasant travel, because connections from Gothenburg are not that good, so it will take me 3 airplanes, before I will arrive. Pfffff !!!

Friday morning then meeting in Sevilla, and then back to Brussels for another weekend over there.

In the meantime, I have for you a scrapbooking page which I made last year but didn't show yet. It's pictures of my pride father, having his first own hairdressers saloon at the age of 22. Next year he will retire, still as a hair dresser and still at the same place where he started 42 years ago !!

Back in town

Long time no see !! It has been very busy for me !! I have worked really hard, almost day and night, during August and September. And so I deserved some holidays, I found !!

So the last 2 weeks, I have enjoyed some free time, but even there, it has been quit busy. I have been 5 days in Rome with a friend, and then last week 3 days in London for my mother's 65 years birthday.

Today I'm allowing myself a lazy day, and I took some time to do some scrapbooking. Oh, what a long time ago since I scrapbooked last time !!!

I'm busy making a "scrapbooking cookery book" so today I made a new page with the recipy for "eierpannenkoeken", in English you could discribe it as egg pancakes, a quicker version of a normal pancake, you could say.

I'm working at my mother's place with a not so good scanning program so unfortunately the picture doesn't give a too good image of what I have been scrapbooking, but I hope it gives you at least an idea.

I hope you can also enjoy some free time and have some fun with your projects !!

4th birthday

And so, the weekend is almost over again !! Time flies !!

Yesterday, we had a lovely day, although when I got up around 8 o'clock, I was surprised to see that the thermometer only showed 2 degrees Celsius !!! Incredible in August. But then during the morning, the sun came 'round and in the afternoon we had a very nice 25 degrees. I had a friend over for dinner and we could eat outside until 10 o'clock in the evening.

Today was a more sad day with kind of grey weather, so I have done a lot of preparing for a trip I will make in September to London.

Hello guys, doing fine over there?

It has been busy again over here. Last weekend I was 3 days in the "Ardennen", the nature part of Belgium with 25 people to enjoy lots of different activities. We had a real good time.

And then back to Sweden where I worked at the office the whole time, no travelling for the moment, so nothing exciting or special to tell you.

But instead I have another layout for you which I made earlier and where you can see me as a little toddler in the sandbox at my grandmother's. I have spend hours and hours over there, playing and creating the most fantastic fantasies in my head. What a lovely carefree time.

Still today I find the combination of the red and the blue a bit strange and hard, but I wanted to go after the colours on the pictures. And I gave myself a hard time by making a crochet frame around it. I'm not good at all at crochet so it took me a while and some sour fingers ;-))

As you know, my mother is also the creative type (so now you know where I got it from ;-)) and she is sometimes contributing with something that I then afterwards can use for my scrapbooking.

She likes to stitch those smaller cross stitchings where I'm more a fan of the larger work like the HEAD patterns, that I'm making. But these smaller pieces come in handy on a scrapbooking page, so this one with a lovely little house she made last year, and I will use it at the right occassion when I'm scrapbooking one or another picture about my house.

St. John's Wort

In my free time, I'm not only creative but I'm also a bit of a witch ...

So yesterday, I went for a long walk with my parents, and we collected flowers of the St. John's Wort. I then put all flowers in a jar, put some olive oil over them, and now they can stand in the window for about 3 weeks, enjoying the sunbeams. Afterwards I then sieve everything and then the oil, that has become totally red in the meantime, is perfect when having burning marks, which I sometimes managed to get when cooking ...

A little bit of that oil on the wound and you don't feel the burning mark anymore and it also heals much nicer. So when you are having these flowers also just growing for free in your roadsides, why not pick them and do something nice with them? Sometimes herbs and flowers are so much better for us than all those medicinal products ...

Although the last year, I have not been scrapbooking anymore in such a high speed as before, due to lack of time, but I still made some stuff of course which I can show you. So let's start with "Slurp" ... with a picture from me when I was a bit under 2 years old.

As you might remember, I'm scrapbooking "my whole life" and starting from baby until now, and as you understand, I still have lots to do !!! But it's also a pleasure to see all these old pictures, and to be able to write "my story", so I'm really enjoying it. I hope you do to when I show them to you.

Raspberry muffins with white chocolate

They always say that being a food photographer is a difficult job, and by the look on my photo I'm sure you will agree with me ;-))

On top of that, my picture is standing on its head and I don't have a clue to get it right. I send it from my Iphone to my mail, where is came upside down. I turned it, saved it and then put into this blog text where it turned upside down again, and in this blog program I don't have a clue how I need to put it in the right direction again !! If you have any ideas or experience with that, please let me know.

Anyway, the reason why I wanted to share this was, because I have just eaten the most wonderful muffins ever ...

Yesterday, my mother found this recipe in a small advertising paper somewhere in a lost corner, and she decided to surprise me and make them for me. And boy, oh boy, they were splendid !! So therefor I would like to share the recipe with you and please, try them at home, you will not be disappointed ...

This recipe make 12 to 15 muffins.

Put the oven on at 225 degrees Celcius.

Melt 100 gr of butter and let it cool down again.

Wisk 2 eggs with 1 and 1/2 dl of sugar, and a teapoon of vanilla sugar. Put in the butter and 2 dl of milk.

Mix 4 dl of flour with 2 teaspoons of baking powder and then put this into the batter.

Take out a muffin tray, put some butter or oil in them, and then put in the batter. Take 225 gr of rasperries and 100 gr of roughly cut white chocolate, and carefully push that into the batter.

Let it bake between 10 and 15 minutes until golden brown. Then, make a cup of peppermint tea, lean back and enjoy the best muffins ever. What a joy on your tongue if you taste this !! I bet you want to start a second muffin right after the first one ;-))

Restart of my blog

Do you see all those little men being angry ??? They're not so happy with me because I have not been around the last year !!!

Perhaps I should give them their way, and start to work on my blog again, what do you think?

The last couple of weeks, I felt like I wanted to "speak to the world" again, and tell you some of my stories again ...

This morning I had a look at my blog again, and actually it felt nice to have a place where I gather all my hobby stuff that I have made, or see pictures of places that I have visited.

The last year, I have been very busy with work and I'm traveling all over Europe several days a week, and that's what made that my blog went at the side, lack of time. Also the scrapbooking and other handwork has been progressing at a lower pase, but still I have quit enough stuff that I could show you.

To save a bit on time, I think I will only write in english as from now. If anybody has a problem with that, just give a yell and we'll see what we can do about it.

I think I will make it official for now ... let's re-open my blog ...

Tatadadaaaaaaaa ... I hereby officially declear that this blog has opened again ...

Deze avond merkte ik dat ik net 10.000 bezoekers heb gehad op mijn blog. Aan iedereen die nu en dan eens langskomt, en een fijne boodschap achterlaat, een dikke dankuwel ... Het is altijd leuk te zien dat mensen reageren op je berichtjes.

Hier in Zweden was het afgelopen weekend niet echt mooi weer, en ik heb er dan ook een gezellig cocooning weekend van gemaakt, echt heel fijn. Tegen de avond klaarde het wel iedere keer mooi uit, dus ik heb mijn nordic walking sticks van onder het stof gehaald, en iedere avond een fikse wandeling gemaakt. En 't is voor herhaling vatbaar, we gaan er weer regelmatig aan beginnen !!

De layout die ik maakte, zijn trouwfoto's van mijn ma en pa, net 40 jaar geleden ...

This evening, I noticed that I just had 10.000 visitors on my blog. To all the people who come and visit every now and then, and leave a message, a very big thank you ... It's always so nice to see that people react on the things you write.

Here in Sweden, the weather was not too great this weekend, so I turned my weekend into a real cocooning weekend, which was really great. But every evening, the weather turned out better, so I took out my Nordic Walking sticks from under a big pile of dust, and made a long walk during those 2 nights. And I really enjoyed it, I will be picking them up much more now again ...

Winter en lente ¤¤¤¤ Winter and spring

Alles goed met jullie? Ikzelf ben sinds zondagnacht terug in Zweden na weer 2 weken in België te hebben gewoond / gewerkt ... Zelfs al moet ik dan werken, het is altijd fijn om de avonden en weekends te hebben in België die ik dan met vrienden kan doorbrengen.

Deze week heb ik de hele week van thuis gewerkt. Bijna iedereen op mijn werk is met verlof, en dan is het niet leuk om als enige op een superstil kantoor te zitten. Dus zit ik hier al elke dag van thuis op mijn pc te tokkelen.

Zoals jullie weten naait mijn ma graag kleine handwerkjes, en hieronder heeft ze 2 kleinere werkjes gemaakt, naar een patroon van een franse dame. Die ga ik dan later gebruiken om te verwerken op een layout. Persoonlijk vind ik de winter geslaagder dan de lente. En nu maar hopen dat die dame ook ooit eens een patroontje maakt voor de herfst en zomer he ;-))

Everything OK with all of you? I'm back in Sweden from Sunday night after having lived / worked 2 weeks in Belgium again ... Even if I have to work than, it's always nice to spend the evenings and weekends in Belgium together with friends.

This week I have been working from home all week. Almost everybody at work is on holidays, and then it is not so nice to sit there in an oh so quit office. So I worked on my pc here at home the whole week.

As you know, my mother likes to make small works of cross stitchings, and on the pictures you see 2 small works made by a pattern of a french lady. And later on, I will then use them on a scrapbooking layout. Personally, I like the winter better than the spring. And let's hope now that the lady will also make a pattern for the autumn and summer ;-))

Handwerk ¤¤¤¤ Cross stitching

Oh, wat is het lang geleden dat ik nog iets op mijn blog heb geschreven. Mijn leven is dan ook de laatste tijd helemaal in een stroomversnelling gekomen. Er is veel gebeurd, en het is momenteel heel erg intensief. Maar wel fijn ...

Het was lang geleden dat ik nog eens een update getoond had van waar ik stond met mijn handwerk dus ik dacht dat dit wel het moment kon zijn ...

Sinds mijn vorige vakantie heb ik het werkje hieronder helemaal afgemaakt. Nog juist in een kader steken en het kan aan de muur in mijn ma haar slaapkamer ... Ze was er blij mee dat het eindelijk na al die jaren afraakte.

En natuurlijk, als een handwerk af is, moet er aan een nieuw begonnen worden !! En wel deze nieuwe HAED, die mijn ma voor mij had gekocht. Pfff, ik zal weer mijn werk hebben ...

En hieronder is het resultaat na een week keihard werken ... Ondertussen heb ik er nog aan verder gedaan, en zou binnen een paar dagen het eerste blad moeten afzijn ...

Nog veel plezier en ik beloof snel al jullie blogs weer bij te lezen ...

Oh, how long it has been, since I last wrote something on my blog. My life has really gone into overdrive the last couple of weeks. A lot has been happening, and everything is very intensive. But very nice also ...

It has been a long time since I last showed where I was with my cross stitching, so I thought that this could be a good moment ...

Since my last holidays, I finished the work that you see on the first picture. I just need to frame it now, and then we can hang it in my mother's bedroom ... She was happy that I finally finished it after all these years ...

And of course, if there comes an end to one work, I need to start another one ... And this will be the new HAED that you see on the second picture. A HAED that my mother bought for me ... Pffff, I will have my work again with this one ;-))

And on the last picture you see the result after a week of hard work ... In the meantime I have been working further on this one, and the first page would soon need to be ready ...

De eerste week na het verlof was superdruk. Ik heb elke dag overuren moeten maken, om het werk toch een beetje rond te krijgen en nog loop ik veel achter. Mijn andere collega's beginnen ook op verlof te gaan, dus alles komt bij mij terecht ...

Verder heb ik 's avonds elke avond heel laat op de pc gehangen in die mate dat ik er mijn slaap een stuk voor laat. Straks gaat die pc nog eens vastgroeien aan mijn vingers !!!!

Dit weekend ga ik nog eens hard werken in de tuin, het is nodig na 2 weken weggeweest te zijn. Hoe komt dat toch dat onkruid altijd veel harder groeit dan al de rest ??? En dinsdag vertrek ik weer voor 2 weken. Ik moet volgende week en de week daarna in Parijs zijn, en in tussentijd is het geen idee om weer naar Zweden te keren, maar blijf ik gezellig in België, ik zie er naar uit.

Op de layout ben ik op stap met mijn eendje dat ik overal en altijd achter me aan sleepte, hij was mijn dikke vriend ;-))

En voor nu ... een fijn weekend, geniet van het superwarme weer of kruip in de koelkast als je het niet meer uithoudt ;-))

The first week after holidays was very very busy. I had to do overtime every day, to get 'round things and still I'm way behind with everything. My other colleagues are also starting to go on holidays, so all comes to me.

Every evening, I was stuck behind my computer in such a way that I missed big parts of my sleep. Soon my computer will start to grow so it get's stuck on my hands !!!

This weekend I will have to work hard in the garden again, it's necessary after having been away 2 weeks. And on Tuesday, I will leave again for 2 weeks. Next week and the week after, I need to be in Paris for work, and in the meantime it's no idea to go back to Sweden, but I stay in Belgium. I'm already looking forward to it again.

On the layout I made, you see me with my little duckling Kwak that went everywhere where I went. He was my big friend ;-))

Gisterenavond ben ik gaan eten met 2 oude schoolvriendinnen die ik via Facebook heb teruggevonden. Het was fijn te horen wat ze sindsdien allemaal uitgespookt hebben ... 't Is toch altijd weer grappig te zien dat ik altijd het minst conventionele leven van allemaal heb. Ik ben eerder een globetrotter, en doe altijd mijn zin, terwijl de meesten altijd de zorg over een gezin hebben en meer gebonden zijn aan huis en thuis ...

De foto's op de layout waren van zo slechte en donkere kwaliteit dat ik ervoor gekozen heb, om ze heel klein te maken. Maar in het geheel is het toch nog leuk geworden, vind ik ... Soms moet je creatief zijn om de slechte kwaliteit van die oude foto's een beetje te verdoezelen.

Yesterday evening, I went eating with 2 old school friends I had found back through Facebook. It was great to listen to all the things they have been doing since then ... It's always fun to see that I always have the less conventional life of all. I'm kind of a globetrotter, and I'm always doing exactly what I like to do, while most others have to take care of their family and are more tied to home and family ...

The pictures on the layout where of such a bad and dark quality that I have choosen to make them very small. But in it's whole, it still became something nice, I think ... Sometimes you have to be a bit creative to hide the bad quality of these old pictures ...

Een snelle post om te vertellen dat ik een heel fijne vakantie heb ! Alles mag en niets moet, heerlijk ...

Ik heb ook al redelijk wat gescrapt deze vakantie, echt fijn. En verder ga ik veel wandelen, en gewoon genieten van alles wat rond mij gebeurt ...

Hebben jullie ook zo van het weekend genoten als ik? Het was prachtig weer, zelfs iets te warm, maar dat maakt wel dat er momenteel prachtige lange avonden te verdelen vallen ;-))

Vrijdag was het midsommar, en al was ik niet in Zweden, ik wou het toch vieren. Dus heb ik een picnic voorbereid, en toen zijn mijn vriendin en ik die gaan verorberen in De Haan, één van de mooiste badplaatsen aan de Belgische kust. Er was, desondanks de prachtige avond, heel weinig volk, dus het was zalig rustig op het strand. Tot half 11 hebben we er genoten van zelfgemaakte sangria, lekkere pastasalade met toebehoren en natuurlijk ook een overheerlijk dessert.

Zaterdag heb ik me een nieuwe bril gekocht. Normaal blijf ik altijd in de klassieke modellen omdat ik niet anders durf, maar deze keer heb ik me toch aan een flashier model gewaagd. Morgen mag ik hem ophalen ... ik ben toch al benieuwd eigenlijk !!

Gisteren hebben we 's morgens al een lange wandeling gemaakt, om de warmte voor te zijn, en in de namiddag hebben we ons aan de rand van een rivier in de schaduw gezet, met handwerk in de aanslag om een aantal uren verder te werken aan mijn kruissteekwerkje. Het mag al eens vooruit gaan als je aan een HAED werkt.

Ik wou ook nog een layout met jullie delen ... Het was een foto van heel slechte kwaliteit ... ja, dat gebeurd als de foto's bijna 40 jaar oud zijn, en daarom heb ik ervoor gekozen hem heel klein te verknippen. Maar ik ben wel blij met het resultaat, en vooral ook met de vrolijke kleurtjes ...

Have you also been enjoying the weekend as much as I did? It was beautiful weather, even a little too hot, but it makes that currently there are beautiful long evenings to share ;-))

Friday it was “midsommar”, and although I was not in Sweden, I still wanted to celebrate this. So I prepared a picnic, and then my girlfriend and I were planning on eating it in De Haan, one of the finest places on the Belgian coast. There was, nevertheless a beautiful night, very few people so it was blissfully quiet at the beach. Until 10:30PM we have enjoyed homemade Sangria, delicious pasta salad with accessories and of course a gorgeous dessert.

Saturday, I bought a new pair of glasses. Normally I always stay within the more classical models because I don’t dare, but this time I have chosen a more flashier model. Tomorrow, I pick it up ... I'm already really curious!

Yesterday morning we had a long walk, before the real heat came up, and in the afternoon we sat at the edge of a river, in the shade with the attempt to craft a few hours to continue work on my cross stitch design. It may go forward a little if you have a big work like a HAED pattern.

I also wanted to share a layout with you ... It was a very poor picture quality ... Yes, that can happen when the photos are almost 40 years old, and so I chose to cut it up very small. But I am pleased with the outcome, and especially with the bright colours ...

Joepie de poepie !! Zonet heb ik mijn boeken dichtgeklapt en besloten dat mijn verlof mag beginnen. Ik ben 10 dagen in België en ga ervan genieten !! Het weer is alvast van de partij.

Ik ben van plan van veel te scrappen, veel te wandelen en buiten te zijn, veel te naaien aan mijn HAED en vooral mij goed te amuseren ;-))

Op de foto misschien een vreemd onderwerp om te scrappen, het graf van mijn grootvader, die ik nooit gekend heb. Maar scrapbooking gaat over de dingen des levens, en dit is er ook een onderdeel van ...

Jihhauw !!! I just closed my books and decided that my holidays could start !! I'm in Belgium during the next 10 days and I'm going to enjoy it !!! The weather is already on my side at least !!

I'm planning to do lots of scrapbooking, hiking and being outside, I want to do lots of stitches on my HAED and most of all, have fun !!!

On the picture perhaps something strange to scrapbook, the grave of my grandfather, who I have never knewn. But scrapbooking is about the things of life, and this is also part of life ...

Afgelopen woensdag hielden we een afscheidsfeestje voor een collega die beslist heeft op vervroegd pensioen te gaan. Ze is enkele jaren mijn baas geweest, en een supercollega, dus ik ga haar zeker missen.

We gingen met een groep van een 35-tal collega’s varen op Vättern, het tweede grootste meer van Zweden. En het weer was ons ook gunstig geschikt, een zalige 25 graden, prachtige zon … het kon niet beter zijn.

Het was een kleine gezellige boot, waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten. Op de foto zie je me klinken met enkele van mijn buitenlandse collega’s, en al woon ik al 8 jaar in Zweden, ik voel me toch nog altijd het fijnst tussen de andere Europese collega’s van mijn groep.

Tegen dat we na 3 uur terug aan wal kwamen, was de zon net aan het ondergaan … een prachtig zicht over het meer …

Ik wou ook nog een layout met jullie delen. Een ongelooflijk saaie foto die ik moest scrappen, dus het was even een uitdaging. Maar je kent me ondertussen wel he, alles moet gescrapt worden, ook de saaie foto’s. Dat vind ik de charme van scrapbooking, dat ook minder geslaagde foto’s toch een leuk scrapresultaat kunnen geven …

Last Wednesday we held a farewell party for a colleague who has decided on early retirement. She's been my boss for several years, and a superb colleague, so I'll definitely miss her.

We went with a group of some 35 colleagues on a boat on Vättern, the second largest lake in Sweden. And the weather was great ... a delightful 25 degrees, with a beautiful sun ... it could not be better.

It was a nice little boat, where we ate delicious. The second picture shows me with some of my foreign export colleagues, and even if I have been 8 living in Sweden for 8 years, I still feel the best among the other European members of my group.

After 3 hours after we came back to shore, while the sun was going down ... just a beautiful view over the lake ...

I also wanted to show you a layout. An incredibly boring photo I had to scrap, so it was a bit of a challenge. But hey, you know me by now, everything should be scrapbooked, even the dull photos. I find the charm of scrapbooking, that even less perfect pictures, still can give a beautiful result after having scrapbooked it ...

Doel

Vorige week zondag maakten mijn ouders en ik een fietstocht net aan de grens met België en Nederland, nabij het Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe en daarna bezochten we Doel. Voor wie Doel niet kent, dat is één van de plaatsen in België waar Electrabel, een Belgische electriciteitsmaatschappij, zijn kerncentrales heeft staan. Het ligt vlak aan de haven van Antwerpen en omdat die moet uitbreiden, moest Doel wijken. Iets meer dan 30 jaar geleden had Doel nog 1300 inwoners, maar vandaag is het een vervallen, verloederde gemeente of eerder wat ooit een gemeente was ...

Nadat Doel werd onteigend, kwamen er krakers in de plaats, alsook buitenlanders en zigeuners die zich allemaal een gratis slaapplaats toe-eigenden ... Een deel van de huizen is ondertussen afgebroken, en op de huizen die nog overeind staan, is het volgeschilderd met graffiti ... Maar hier en daar is er nog een stijfkop aanwezig die het dorp nog niet heeft verlaten, en 84 mensen blijven voorlopig waar ze zitten.

Als je in de buurt bent van Antwerpen, ga eens een kijkje nemen in Doel, nu het er nog is ... Het is best een speciaal gevoel om daar rond te lopen !

Last Sunday, my parents and I made a bicycle ride at the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, near the "Drowned Land of Saeftinghe" and then we visited Doel. For those who don't know Doel, that's one of the places in Belgium, where Electrabel, a Belgian electricity company, has listed its nuclear power plants. It's right at the border of the harbour of Antwerp, and since this had to expand, Doel had to go. Slightly more than 30 years ago, Doel has 1300 inhabitants, but today is a dilapidated, run-down town, or rather what was once a town ...

After the people of Doel had been expropriated, there came squatters in the village, followed by foreigners and gypsies, all looking at a free space to sleep ... Part of the houses are now demolished, and the houses still standing, are fully painted with graffiti ... But here and there is still a stubborn presence of a person or family, that still has not left the village and 84 people remain where they are at this moment.

If you're in the area of Antwerp, go take a look at Doel, now it is still there ... It's a pretty special feeling to walk around over there!

December als titel van deze post ... Kan je verder van december afzitten, dan daar in juni over spreken? Nee, eigenlijk niet ;-)) Maar ik moest nog altijd mijn laatste pagina laten zien van mijn kalender 2010 die ik voor mijn ma had gemaakt. Ondertussen hangt hij natuurlijk al wel een half jaar te hangen aan haar kast !!

Zondag zijn het verkiezingen in België en als Belg in het buitenland zat mijn kiesbrief vandaag in de bus. Ik heb hem net propertjes ingekleurd met een rood bolletje en morgenochtend gaat hij snel op de post om op tijd toe te komen tegen zondag. En nu maar hopen dat we op de goeien hebben gestemd ;-)) Eigenlijk had ik net zo goed in België kunnen stemmen, want dit weekend ben ik daar zelf hihi !!

December as the title of this post ... Is it possible to be further away from December than speaking about it in June? No, I guess not ;-)) But I still had to show the last page of the calender 2010 that I made for my mom. And in the meantime he has been hanging against the wardrobe for the last half year !!!

On Sunday we have to vote in Belgium and as a Belgian in a foreign country, my voting letter was in the mailbox today. I have signed it with a nice red dot and tomorrow morning I will quickly post it so it will be on time by Sunday. And let's hope we voted for the right once ;-)) In fact, I could have easily voted in Belgium myself because that is where I will be this weekend hihi ...

En nu maar groeien ¤¤¤¤ And now just growing

Een terechte proficiat voor mijzelf … dat geef ik mij ;-)) Vrijdagavond heb ik nog mijn moestuin omgeploegd, en na anderhalve dag, is mijn meer dan 100 vierkante meter hemelse groentetuin volledig bezaaid en beplant met allerlei lekkers zoals verschillende soorten tomaten, meloen, quinoa, allerlei boontjes, slaatjes in alle vormen en maten, worteltjes, spinazie en nog veel meer lekkers.

En ik ben ervan overtuigd dat het een mooie zomer wordt zodat ik binnen een aantal maanden heel veel lekkers kan oogsten. Of zou dat gewoon komen omdat ik altijd en eeuwig een optimist ben ???

De tomaten op de foto zijn trouwens niet mijn eigen oogst maar kocht ik vorige maand van een man die ze kweekt in een serre en ieder jaar op 1 mei opendeurdag houdt. En dan ben ik een trouwe klant en koop een 10-tal kilo om te verwerken in de diepvries. Zijn tomaten zijn onbespoten en voor het bestuiven gebruikt hij bijen, die van bloempje naar bloempje vliegen.

En mijn lievelingsgroenten … ja, gebakken groene (lees : onrijpe) tomaten, wat een delicatesse. Dus als je zomer te kort is, en je tomaten rijpen niet genoeg af, geen nood, gewoon bakken die tomaten, wat een heerlijkheid. En heb je er te veel, dan snijd je ze gewoon in schijfjes en steekt ze in de diepvries en dan kan je het hele jaar door van die lekkere gebakken tomaten genieten. Mmmmmmmmm ….

A deserved congratulations to myself ... that is what I give myself ;-)) Friday evening I have plowed my garden, and after a day and a half, my more than 100 square meters totally scattered and heavenly vegetable garden has been planted with many goodies such as different types of tomatoes, melons, quinoa, various beans, salads of all shapes and sizes, carrots, spinach and more goodies.

And I am convinced that it will be a good summer so I will be abe to harvest a lot of goodies, within a few months. Or would that just be because I'm always the eternal optimist??

The tomatoes in the picture are not my own crops but I bought them last month by a man who grows them in a greenhouse. Each year at May 1, he holds open houe and I am a loyal customer and buy many kilo’s to put into the freezer. His tomatoes are unsprayed and to pollinate, he uses bees that fly from flower to flower.

And my favorite vegetable ... yes, fried green (read : unripe) tomato, which is a delicacy. So if your summer is short, and your tomatoes are not ripe enough, do not worry, just bake the tomatoes, what a glory. And do you too much to eat them at once, then you cut them into slices and put them in the freezer and then you can enjoy them all year round. Mmmmmmmmm ....

Ik had het voorspeld en zo is het ook uitgekomen ... deze week is vliegensvlug gegaan. Dinsdag en woensdag heel fijn bezoek gekregen van mensen uit Zwitserland, en daarna snel op en neer naar London gevlogen. En ook daar heel lekker weer.

Vandaag werk ik van thuis en ik heb me al helemaal geïnstalleerd op 1 van mijn terrassen buiten, gezellig. Dat voelt al een stuk minder dan werken ;-))

Dit weekend zal vooral bestaan uit heel veel werken in de tuin. Mijn frees was nog altijd niet gerepareerd en heb dan ook mijn ongenoegen geuit, maar ik mag vandaag om een reservefrees gaan die ze in de winkel hadden liggen, dus ik hoop echt dat tegen vanavond mijn moestuin zal zijn omgeploegd.

In tegenstelling tot het mooie weer nu, hieronder een bitterkoude layout waarop mijn pa te zien is, toen hij nog een jong baasje was ...

I had predicted it, and it came true ... This week has been flying fast. Tuesday and Wednesday I had a very nice visit from people from Switzerland, and then quickly flew back and forth to London. And there they also had very nice weather.

Today I work from home and I have already completely installed me comfortable on one of my outdoor terraces and. It already feels a lot less like working then ;-))

This weekend will mostly consist of lots of garden work. My cutter was still not repaired and I have therefore expressed my displeasure to the shopowner, but I can now go him in the shop and lean a second hand cutter, so I really hope that tonight my vegetable garden will be plowed.

Unlike the nice weather now, here under a bitterly cold layout where you can see my dad, when he was a young guy ...

Wat schreef ik in mijn vorige post? Dat de tijd vliegt? Wel, dat is niet alleen tijdens de week maar zeker ook tijdens het weekend. Ik ben nog maar goed en wel begonnen aan het weekend, en het loopt alweer op zijn einde ... Wat gaat dat toch allemaal snel !!!

Maar ik heb een leuke week voor de boeg. Een dagje kantoor, 2 daagjes met klanten van Zwitserland op stap, dan even rap op en neer naar London, en vrijdag weer een dagje van thuis werken. Voor ik het weet, is het weer weekend !!

Een maand of 2 geleden verhuisde mijn nichtje en daar hoorde natuurlijk een verhuiskaartje bij ...

What did I write in my previous post? That time flies? Well, that's not just during the week but also during the weekend. I'm have just well and truly started the weekend, and it runs again at its end ... Oh, how everything goes so fast!

But I have a wonderful week ahead. A day at the office, two days out with clients from Switzerland, then just fast up and down to London, and Friday, a day of work at home. Before I know it, it will be weekend again!

A month or two ago, my niece moved and therefor I had to make a moving card of course ...

Wow, wat vliegt die tijd. Ik ben in de maand mei niet echt flink geweest met het plaatsen van posts. Maar ik beloof mijn leven te beteren, ik heb nog heel veel dingen om jullie te tonen, so stay tuned ;-))

Maandag is mijn ma terug naar huis vertrokken na 3 weken verlof in Zweden. Het was een fijne tijd samen met haar, en ook mijn tuin ziet er weer wat mooier uit dankzij haar hulp.

Deze week ging mijn dampkamp stuk, direct een nieuwe gekocht, en gisteren proberen ophangen. Eerst die vieze, oude, kapotte dampkamp met veel moeite verwijderd om dan te zien dat de nieuwe dampkamp niet echt eenvoudig op te hangen was. Maar een vriend van mij heeft hem nu mee naar huis om een paar aanpassingen te doen, en hopelijk lukt het dan wel.

Ik ging gisteren ook mijn moestuin omploegen maar helaas weigerde ook mijn freesmachine dienst, dus die moest ook weer binnen voor een service. Het zat mij niet mee gisteren !!

Maar bon, niet getreurd ... er ligt een heel weekend voor mij waarin ik ga proberen heel veel dingen te doen en te genieten.

Op de layout zie je Eddy Merckx die zijn eerste Ronde van Frankrijk reed in 1969 en die Ronde dan ook meteen won. Mijn ouders zaten in het stadium toen hij toekwam want dat wou mijn pa voor geen geld ter wereld missen ...

Wow, time flies. I'm have not been good during the month of May in placing posts. But I promise to improve, I have many things to show you, so stay tuned ;-))

Monday, my mom went back home after three weeks holidays in Sweden. It was a great time with her, and my garden looks much nicer thanks to her help.

This week, my kitchen hood broke down, I immediately bought a new, and tried to hang it up yesterday. First, it was difficult to remove the dirty, old, broken hood and then it was not easy to hang up the new one. But a friend of mine has taken the hood now home to do a few adjustments, and hopefully it will then work.

I also wanted to plow my kitchen garden yesterday but unfortunately my milling machine refused service, so that one was also returned to do a service. It was not my day yesterday!

But ok, never mind ... There is an entire weekend ahead of me where I'm going to try to do lots of things and enjoy.

The layout that you see is when Eddy Merckx had made his first Tour de France in 1969 and won that round also. My parents were at the stage when he entered and won and my dad didn't wanted to miss that for no money in the world ...

Verjaardagskaartje voor Jerker

Oei, al bijna een hele week voorbij zonder dat ik iets liet horen. Het is dan ook druk geweest op het werk, en de rest van de tijd heb ik gespendeerd met mijn ma die hier nog altijd op bezoek is. Tot maandag blijft ze nog, dan gaat ze weer richting België. Maar niet getreurd, want volgende maand is het mijn beurt om op verlof te gaan, en dan ga ik weer naar huis.

Op de foto een verjaardagskaartje dat ik maakte voor mijn beste vriend hier in Zweden .. .

Oj, almost a week pasted since I last wrote something over here. It has been busy at work and the rest of the time, I spent with my mum who is still visiting me. She will stay untill Monday and then she's off to Belgium again. But don't worry, next month I will have holidays myself, and then it is my turn to go home ...

Zandkoekjes bakken ¤¤¤¤ Making sandcakes

Ik GENIET van mijn verlengd weekend !! Donderdag zat het weer helemaal niet mee, maar ik heb lekker binnen vanalles en nog wat gedaan. Gisteren was het iets beter, alee als je 10 graden beter kan noemen, en hebben we eerst een tuinprojekt ondernomen, wat we al 5 jaar van plan waren. De helft van een stukje tuin is uitgegraven, veel hard werk, en vandaag moeten we het andere stuk doen. Maar daarna komen er mooie lavendelstruikjes, gebroken hartjes en bodembedekkers in om zo weer een mooi hoekje te creeëren in de tuin. Daarna even naar een nabijliggend stadje geweest en daarna foto's getrokken in een prachtig natuurreservaat in de buurt. Al bij al een nuttig dag dus.

Maar ... nog 2 extra dagen in dit lange weekend die ik goed ga gebruiken om nog vanalles en nog wat te doen.

Op de foto zie je mij op mijn lievelingsplekje bij mijn marraine ... de zandbak !!! Je kon er mij uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuren in terugvinden ...

I'm really ENJOYING my prolounged weekend !!! Thursday it was not nice weather and therefor I have done many things inside the house. Yesterday it was better weather, well that is if you think 10 degrees Celcius is nice, so we started with a garden project, that we already wanted to do the last 5 years but never found the time for. Half of a little part of the garden has been tumbled upside down, a lot of hard slavery work, and today we have to do the second part. But then I will plant lots of lavender, broken hearts and ground covering plants so it will be a nice new piece in the garden. After this we went to a neighborhood city, and afterwards we took pictures in a very nice nature reserve not far from my home. All in all a usefull day ...

But ... still 2 more days in this prolounged weekend that I will make very good use of by doing lots of different things.

Deze week hebben we een korte werkweek, en eerlijkgezegd, ik kijk er naar uit. Morgen werk ik nog tot een uur of 2 en dan geef ik het op voor deze week.

Donderdag en vrijdag voorspellen ze slecht weer, dus waarschijnlijk zal er dan wel wat gescrapt worden. Als het zaterdag en zondag wat beter is, dan heb ik nog veel werk in de tuin ...

Op de layout zie je mij samen met mijn marraine in de tuin ... vele, vele jaren terug !!

This week, we have a short working week and to be honest, I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow I will work until about 2 o'clock and then I will close the books for this week.

On Thursday and Friday, they give bad weather, so probably I will do some more scrapbooking. If it's getting better on Saturday and Sunday, then a lot of work in the garden is waiting for me.

En ondertussen vliegt de tijd maar voorbij. Mijn ma is hier ook op verlof in Zweden, en daarom staat het "computeren" en scrappen op een iets lager pitje omdat we samen andere dingen doen.

Maar ondertussen wou ik jullie wel nog even de novemberpagina van mijn kalender 2010 tonen. Nog 1 pagina te gaan nadien !

And in the meantime, time is just flying away. My mother is here on holidays in Sweden with me and therefor my computer is a little at the side, and I'm doing less scrapbooking because we do quit some other activities together.

Super jammer !!! ¤¤¤¤ How sad !!!

Voor mijn verjaardag in december kreeg ik een doos prachtige kleurpotloden van Prismacolor, waar ik heel erg naar uitgekeken had. Zoals zo vaak bij mij, als ik nieuwe dingen heb, gebruik ik dat de eerste maanden niet omdat ik dat "te mooi" vind en zit ik er alleen maar naar te staren. Zo ook met kleren, die vaak eerst een paar maand in de kast hangen, vooraleer ik ze durf aandoen ;-))

Gisteren echter was de tijd rijp om mijn nieuwe potloden te scherpen en er een stempel mee in te kleuren, maar wat een domper op de vreugde, toen ik bij het slijpen merkte, dat heel veel van mijn potloden gebroken waren !!! Waarschijnlijk zullen ze, tijdens het transport van het verre USA een val gemaakt hebben, want uiteindelijk bleek dat 3/4 van de doos gebroken stiften heeft.

Superjammer, want diegenen die de val hebben overleefd, zien er inderdaad heel erg goede potloden uit ... Ik zal maar proberen me voorlopig tevreden te stellen met de 20-tal die waarschijnlijk wel goed zullen zijn ... ;-((

Om toch te eindigen met een vrolijke noot, wil ik hieronder een layout tonen die ik onlangs maakte. Mijn ma en pa op stap met mijn nichtje ... Foto's van een 40-tal jaar terug. Je moet eens kijken naar de kleren van mijn ouders ... Waarschijnlijk hebben ze die dag samen voor de kleerkast gestaan, om hun garderobe op elkaar af te stemmen ;-))

For my birhtday in December, I got a lovely box of pencils from Prismacolor which I had launghed for very much. As so often with me, the first months when I receive something new, I don't use it because "too beautiful" and I'm only staring at it. I have the same thing with clothes, which very often hang in my wardrobe for some months, before I dare to wear them ;-))

Yesterday I found the time right to start sharpening my pencils, but how sad I became when I noticed that a great lot of them were broken on the inside !!! Probably, when making the long journey from the far USA, they will have fallen because in the end, 3/4th of my box was broken !!

Very sad, because the once that have survived, look like the best pencils ... I will try to be happy with the 20-something that probably will be good once ... ;-((

To end this post with a positive note anyway, I want to show a layout that I made some time ago. My parents on a day at the seaside with my niece ... Pictures that are about 40 year old. Have a look at the clothes of my parents ... Probably they have been in front of their wardrobe together, to match the colours of their clothes ;-))

Hahaha, nog een geluk dat ik nog eens de vlieguren check van mij ma, wanneer ze donderdag toekomt, want ... ze komt niet donderdag toe, maar al woensdag ;-)) Nog een geluk dat ik eventjes check of ze ging daar mooi staan schilderen op de luchthaven, wachtend naar haar dochter die maar niet zou afkomen !!

Op de layout zie je ook mijn ma en mij, maar dan ettelijke jaartjes jonger ;-))

Hahaha, what a luck that I verified my mother's flight hours one extra time, to see when she will arrive on Thursday, because ... she doesn't come on Thursday but already on Wednesday ;-)) What a luck that I checked again, otherwise she would have stand their at the airport, waiting on a daughter that would not come !!

En voor mij is zonet het weekend begonnen. Een druk weekend waarin ik nog veel moet doen, want vanaf volgende week donderdag is mijn ma hier op verlof in Zweden, dus ik moet eerst nog een aantal dingen in orde maken, vooraleer het zover is. Laat ons hopen dat de vulkaan de komende week weer geen kuren meer krijgt, en dat ze vlot naar hier kan komen.

Ondertussen de oktober pagina van mijn kalender 2010. Jullie hebben ondertussen bijna alle pagina's gezien. Nog 2 te gaan ...

And for me, the weekend has just started. A busy weekend, where I still have to do lots of things, because as from next Thursday, my mother will be on holidays with me here in Sweden, and so I have to organize some stuff before she comes. Fingers crossed that the vulcano will behave the coming days, so my mother can come over without any problems.

Just married

Deze week kreeg ik een award van Chantal, A Belgian scrapper in Holland. Ik ben altijd blij met een award maar meestal zet ik ze niet op mijn blog omdat ik dat soms nogal een "gedoe" vind, maar bij deze moest je 10 dingen over jezelf vertellen en ik vond het een goede aanleiding om nog eens een post te plaatsen ...

Daar gaat hij dan ... 10 dingen over mezelf ...

1) Ik woon al meer dan 8 jaar in Zweden, woon hier supergraag, maar voel me nog altijd Belg in hart en nieren ...

2) Op het eind van het jaar verandert het eerste cijfertje in het getal van mijn leeftijd, en dat vind ik nu al vervelend ...

3) Al van sinds ik 15 ben, wil ik mijn eigen huis bouwen, en het ziet er naar uit dat het er binnen het jaar toch eindelijk van gaat komen !!

4) Het moet nu al ongeveer 18 jaar zijn dat ik vegetariër ben, en elke dag ben ik meer en meer overtuigd van mijn keuze ... omdat ik het niet lekker vind, omdat het zielig is voor de dieren, omdat ik me er goed bij voel en de laatste tijd ook omdat ik vind dat het de enige "juiste" manier is voor onze planeet en al dat ander volk dat er op rondloopt ...

5) Ik werk heel veel maar omdat ik er zoveel plezier in heb, vind ik mezelf geen workaholic maar lijkt het alleen maar een leuke hobby.

6) Door het reizen voor het werk, kan ik dat vaak combineren met een weekendje in België, wat heel fijn is. Ongeveer de helft van het jaar slaap ik daardoor niet in mijn eigen bed ...

7) Al van kindsafaan ben ik creatief geweest, en er gaat geen dag voorbij zonder wat te scrappen, naaien, of creatieve inspiratie op te doen.

8) Ik vind dat we in een ongelooflijk fijn tijdperk leven waarin we ongelooflijk verwend zijn met MP3's, podcast waarbij je je opgelopen achterstand toch nog kan inlopen, laptop's die een groot deel van het leven uitmaken, om vanalles en nog wat op terug te vinden. Wat deed een mens vroeger als hij iets niet wist? ;-))

9) Ik ben verslaafd aan het lezen van blogs. Ik volg er maar liefst 566 en daar komen er elke week weer nieuwe bij !!

10) En ook het krijgen van berichtjes op mijn eigen blog, vind ik altijd heel fijn. Het is altijd weer even een klein momentje van genieten ...

11) Ik zou nog heel wat meer kunnen vertellen over mijzelf ... maar dat mag niet meer zeker? Ik mocht maar tot 10 !!!!

Nu moet ik deze award ook doorgeven aan een aantal mensen, en dat is niet moeilijk. Er zijn een aantal mensen die direct in mijn hoofd opkomen, omdat ik zoveel plezier heb met hun blog.

De eerste persoon die ik een award wil geven, is Erna (http://scotlandandstitching.blogspot.com/), een lieve dame uit Nederland die een sterke band heeft met Schotland, en me altijd veel leesplezier bezorgt op haar blog met haar fijne verhalen, en mooie merklappen die ze laat zien.

De tweede award geef ik graag aan Rein (http://stampingrika.blogspot.com/ en http://knutselen-frutselen.blogspot.com/), een Belgische dame die in Duitsland woont, en heel mooie kaartjes en ATC's maakt, maar vooral met haar tweede blog bij mij heel veel nostalgie naar boven haalt, als ze weer eens één of ander voorwerp "uit de oude doos" naar boven haalt, die ook voor mij veel herinneringen oproept ...

Een derde award geef ik aan Robin (http://www.photosbyrobin.com/blog) omdat ik graag naar mooie foto's kijk en fotografie, en bij haar blog kan ik echt heerlijk genieten.

En de laatste geef ik graag aan een Franse dame (http://symiote.over-blog.com/), die vaak hele leuke handwerkjes maakt, en ook nu en dan eens een patroon weggeeft op haar blog, waarvan ik er al een paar heb gemaakt om dan te verwerken op mijn scrapbooking layouts.

Ik zou met gemak nog een heel aantal awards kunnen weggeven, maar deze 4 personen sprongen spontaan in mijn hoofd, en ga ik altijd met veel plezier bezoeken. Ik hoop dat het ze kan aanzetten op hun beurt weer een aantal mensen in de bloemetjes te zetten.

Op de layout hieronder zie je mijn ouders op hun trouwdag. Het blauwe lint dat ik op de layout heb verwerkt, is het lint dat mijn ma op haar trouwkleed droeg, en dat ze altijd heeft bewaard en dat ze me onlangs heeft gegeven om te verwerken bij het scrapbooken.

This week, I got an award from Chantal, A Belgian scrapper in Holland. I'm always happy with an award but mostly I don't put them on my blog but with this award, you had to tell 10 things about yourself, and I thought this was a good way of starting a new post again.

So here we go ... 10 things about myself ...

1) It's more then 8 years now that I live in Sweden, and I love living here, but I'm still that all Belgian girl ...

2) At the end of the year, the first digit in my age will change, and I already find it annoying now ...

3) Ever since I was 15, I wanted to build my own house, and it looks like that within a year, this dream will come true.

4) It must be more than 18 years now, I'm a vegetarian, and every day, I'm more and more convinced about this ... because I don't like the taste of meat, because I pity the animals, because I feel much more healthy this way, and the last period also more and more because I find it's the only "correct" way to help our planet and all people walking on that planet.

5) I work a lot but because I like it so much I don't see myself as a workaholic but I see it as a hobby.

6) By traveling for work, I can often combine this with a weekend in Belgium which is very nice. By this, I'm not sleeping in my own bed for about half of the year.

7) Ever since I have been a child, I have always been creative. There will not pass a day without me doing some scrapbooking, some cross stitching, or finding creative inspiration somewhere.

8) I find we live in an incredible period where we are spoiled with MP3's, podcasts where you can still listen to everything that you didn't have time for before, and laptops that contain a big part of my life, where you can find all kinds of information. What did we do before, when we didn't know something?

9) I'm addicted to reading blogs. I follow 566 once, and every week there are new once coming along.

10) And also receiving a message on my own blog, I really enjoy very much. It is every time a little moment of enjoyment.

11) I still could tell much more about myself, but I think I'm not allowed anymore. I think I had to stop at 10 !!!!

Now I have to give this award at some other people and that's not difficult. There are a couple of people that spontanuous come up in my head, because their blogs give me so much joy.

The first person I want to give an award is Erna (http://scotlandandstitching.blogspot.com/), a very nice lady in Holland who is a big fan of Scotland, and always give me a lot of pleasure on her blog with nice stories, and shows us a lot of nice samplers.

The second award I like to give to Rein (http://stampingrika.blogspot.com/ en http://knutselen-frutselen.blogspot.com/), a Belgian lady who lives in Germany, and makes beautiful cards and ATC's but certainly with her second blog brings up a lot of nostalgy when she finds one of another item "from old times" that bring out a lot of memories for me.

A third award goes to Robin (http://www.photosbyrobin.com/blog) because I like to watch beautiful pictures and photography, and her blog really makes me enjoy my time.

The last award I like to give to a French lady (http://symiote.over-blog.com/), who makes really nice cross stitching works, and also gives away some nice patterns on her blog, of which I have made some so I can then use them on my scrapbooking.

I could with ease give away many more awards but these 4 persons came up automatically into my mind and I always like to visit their blog. I hope they will take this opportunity so they in their turn will give a little flower to some other people.

On the layout, you see my parents at the day of their marriage. The blue ribbon that I used on the layout, is the ribbon that my mother wore on her wedding dress, and that she always kept, and recently gave to me to use with my scrapbooking.

Vinden jullie dat ook zo zalig ... Die vroege zaterdagmorgen, waarbij je nog zo een laaaaaaaaaaaang weekend voor je hebt, en zoveel plannen voor zaken die je de komende 2 dagen wilt gaan doen?

Vandaag krijg ik een vriend over de vloer, dus er moet een beetje gekookt worden. En de rest van het weekend ga ik vooral creatief bezig zijn ... wat scrappen, naaien, en natuurlijk zoals altijd ... veel genieten !!!

Today a friend will be over for dinner, so I have to cook a bit today. And the rest of the weekend, I will be creative ... some scrapbooking, cross stitching, and of course ... enjoying what I'm doing !

Wow, wat vliegt de week toch alweer voorbij. Deze week was ik de ganse week op bureau in Zweden, maar toch ging het in razende vaart voorbij. Vandaag werk ik van thuis, maar ik stop rond een uur of 12. Dan ga ik als een wervelwind mijn huis schoonmaken, en dan ... genieten van een heerlijk weekend. Ik kijk er al naar uit !!

Op de foto nog maar eens een stukje van mijn Kalender 2010 ... de septembermaand. Zelf één van mijn favorieten van de kalender.

Wow, what is the week going fast !! This week I was at the office in Sweden the whole week, but even then the week was over in a flash. Today I will work from home, but I will stop at 12 o'clock. Then I will go through my house as a tornado to clean it, and then ... I will be enjoying a lovely weekend. I'm looking forward to it !!

Dream big dreams

En zo zit de vakantie er weer bijna op ... ik ben zonet van Brussel naar Göteborg gevlogen, en zit in de taxi op weg naar mijn huis.

Normaalgezien kijk ik na een vakantie altijd uit om weer te beginnen werken, maar nu heb ik er precies niet al te veel zin in. Ik heb zo genoten van het "gewoon-doen-waar-ik-zin-in-heb-als-ik-er-zin-in-heb" dat ik dat graag nog eventjes had verdergedaan ... Maar ja, morgen vliegen we er terug in en dan ben ik het vakantiegevoel wel weer snel kwijt.

Ondertussen is alle sneeuw hier weg, maar ik zie wel nog het laatste ijs op de meren liggen. Ook nog geen bloemen en blaadjes op de bomen, maar de lente kan hier nu toch niet ver weg meer zijn. De temperaturen zijn ondertussen wel al best aangenaam ...

Op de layout zie je mij ook in het zonnetje liggen, toen ik dat precies nog liever deed dan nu ... Nu ben ik absoluut geen zonneklopper meer. Niet dat ik het daar op de foto wel was, als mijn ma mij in het zonnetje zette om een foto te nemen, dan had ik op die leeftijd nog niet te protesteren he ;-))

And so my holidays are almost over ... I just flew from Brussels to Gothenburg and I'm now in the taxi on the way to my house.

Normally after a holiday, I'm always looking forward to starting to work again, but I have the feeling that I don't feel for that so much this time. I so much enjoyed the "do-what-you-feel-like-doing-whenever-you-feel-like-doing-it", that I really would have liked to do this even a little more ... Well, well, tomorrow we will start to work again as usual, and soon I will have forgotten about this vacation feeling.

In the meantime all snow is gone over here, but I still see the last ice on the lakes. And on the trees no leaves or flowers yet, but spring cannot be far away now. Temperatures are really nice for the moment ...

On the layout, you see me lying in the sun, when I still liked it better. Now I'm not a real sunlover anymore. Not that I was one at the time, but when my mum put me in the sun for a nice picture, I couldn't complain too much at the time, could I? ...

Wat vliegt de tijd als je vakantie hebt en je amuseert !!! Dinsdagavond heb ik mijn klaskameraadje ontmoet van 22 jaar geleden. Echt leuk om elkaar nog eens terug te zien na al die jaren. Ik vond zelf dat we allebei niet echt veel veranderd waren. En ze had ook haar dochter mee die ondertussen al 11 geworden was !! Het was echt een geslaagde avond.

Woensdagavond heb ik mijn 2 nichten ontmoet, in het nieuwe huis van 1 van die 2 nichten. Ook alweer een heel geslaagde avond.

En gisterenavond ben ik dan met mijn beste vriendin een glaasje gaan drinken op café. 3 leuke avonden op rij ...

Vandaag staat de zon al stralend aan de hemel, dus vanmiddag gaan we er eens lekker op uit om een lange wandeling te maken. Ik heb er al zin in, nieuwe vitamientjes ontvangen van het lentezonnetje !!

Ik moet jullie ondertussen nog enkele pagina's tonen van mijn kalender 2010, dus hier is de pagina voor augustus ...

Time is going so fast when you are having holidays and having fun !!! Tuesday night, I met my old schoolmate from 22 years ago. Real fun to see each other again after all these years. I really thought we both didn't change that much over the years. And she also had her daughter with her who was already 11 in the meantime. It was a really good evening !!

Wednesday night I met my 2 nieces, in the new house of one of them. Also a really nice evening !!

And yesterday evening, I took a drink at a bar with my best friend. 3 great evenings in a row !!

Today the sun is already shining really well, so this afternoon, we will go for a nice long walk. I'm already looking forward to it, picking up some new vitamines from the spring sun ...

Paaskaartje voor mijn pa ¤¤¤¤ Easter card for my dad

Pasen is alweer voorbij (tenzij er nog een derde paasdag is ???), maar ik laat nog even het kaartje zien dat ik voor mijn pa maakte.

Onlangs vond een oud schoolvriendinnetje van laaaaaaaaaaaaang geleden me via Facebook, en vanavond gaan we samen iets eten. We hebben elkaar in 22 jaar niet gezien !!!! Als ik eraan denk dat het al zo lang geleden is, dat we zijn afgestudeerd van het humaniora, ongelooflijk !!! Ik ben toch eens benieuwd om te zien wat dat zal geven na al die jaren.

Ik heb lang geweigerd om op Facebook te gaan, maar ik moet zeggen, ik heb ondertussen mijn mening wel wat gewijzigd. Zeker als je zo ver woont als ik, is het wel leuk om te zien waar vrienden ondertussen mee bezig zijn. En natuurlijk, zoals in dit geval is het leuk om iemand terug te vinden van uit lang vervlogen tijden. Ik kijk al uit naar vanavond als ik haar weer zal zien !!

Easter has passed already (or is there something like a third Easter day ???) but I still want to show you the Easter card that I made for my dad.

A while ago an old class mate from looooooooooooooooooong ago found me back through Facebook, and tonight we are going to eat out together. We have not seen each other in 22 years !!! If I think back that it is already so long ago that I graduaded from that school, unbelievable !!! I'm really curious to see what will happen tonight !!

A very long time, I didn't want to go on Facebook, but I have to say that I have reviewed my idea now. Certainly when you live so far away from home like me, it is nice to see what friends are doing in the meantime. And certainly, like in this case, it's nice to see someone back from a very long time ago. I'm really looking forward to tonight !!

Paaskaartje voor mijn mamie ¤¤¤¤ Easter card for my mummie

Gisteren heb ik de boeken dichtgedaan voor het werk en nu kan ik meer dan een week genieten van wat verlof. Het zijn weer zware maanden geweest op het werk, dus ik keek wel uit naar een beetje rust.

Het belooft een weekje te worden van gezond eten, vrienden opzoeken, scrappen, naaien, gaan joggen, wandelen, ... kortom weeral eens gewoon doen waar ik zin in heb en genieten.

Bijna Pasen ook en daarom dat ik natuurlijk ook een paaskaartje moest maken voor mijn ma, wat je hieronder ziet. 3x raden welke soep wij op Pasen zullen eten? ;-))

Yesterday I closed all books at work and now I can enjoy some holidays for more than a week. It had been heavy months at work so I was really looking forward to some peace and quiet.

It will be a week of eating healthy, visiting friends, scrapbooking, cross stitching, jogging, hiking, ... in one word, just doing what I feel like doing and enjoying it.

Almost Easter now and therefor I had of course to make an Easter card for my mother, which you see on the picture. I also wrote a recipe for an Easter soup, so guess what we will be eating at Easter? ;-))

Laatste werkweek vooraleer mijn vakantie begint, joehoe !!! Deze middag had ik een meeting in Stuttgart, maar ondertussen ben ik alweer aangekomen in Parijs. Ik blijf hier tot woensdagavond, donderdag nog een dagje van thuis in België werken, en dan ... VAKANTIE !!! Ik kijk er echt naar uit !!!

The last working week before my holidays start, joehoe !!! This afternoon I had a meeting in Stuttgart, but in the meantime I already arrived in Paris. I stay here untill Wednesday night, Thursday I work a day from home in Belgium and then ... HOLIDAYS !!! I'm really looking forward to it !!!

Laatste dag van de week alweer ... Nog even werken van thuis vandaag, en om 14u staat de taxi al voor de deur, om me op te halen en naar de luchthaven te rijden. Daarna wordt het weer richting België. Hopelijk kunnen ze daar het mooie weer nog even vasthouden !!

Today is already the last day of the week ... I will be working from home for a couple of hours, and at 2 p.m., a taxi will be standing in front of the door, to pick me up and drive me to the airport. We are then heading off for Belgium again. I hope they keep the good weather some more time for me !!

Goeieavond !!! Gisteren ben ik voor de tweede keer gaan lopen, en ik ben opnieuw verbaasd dat ik me de dag nadien zo goed voel, en geen beetje spierpijn heb. Ik kan er niet van over dat ik zo lang geen sport heb gedaan, en de volgende dag toch geen pijn heb. Wat een prachtige sport zeg ;-))

Leuke vooruitzichten heb ik ... morgen nog een dagje op zwier met Franse klanten, een hele leuke groep van 7 personen die ik vandaag ook al heb rondgeleid, en die heel tof zijn. Vrijdag werk ik van thuis en in de namiddag vlieg ik naar België. Dit weekend ben ik dan thuis om maandag in Duitsland te werken en dinsdag en woensdag in Frankrijk. Donderdag een dagje van thuis in België werken, en dan ... VAKANTIE ... 11 heerlijke dagen om te genieten, lekker en gezond te eten, te wandelen, natuurlijk nog verder te joggen, te scrappen, te naaien, te shoppen ... kortom, gewoon te doen waar ik zin in heb ...

Good evening !!! Yesterday I went jogging for the second time, and again I was amazed that I felt so good the day after, and no muscle pain. I really can't understand that I have not done any sports during such a long period but still no pain the day after. What a great sport jogging is !!!

I have nice things coming up the next couple of days ... Tomorrow I will be on the road with 7 nice French guests, a great bunch of 7 fantastic people that I also showed around today. Friday I work from home and in the afternoon I will fly to Belgium. This weekend I am home and on Monday I will work in Germany, and on Tuesday and Wednesday in France. On Thursday I will work a day from home in Belgium and then ... HOLIDAYS !!! 11 days to enjoy, to eat good and healthy, of course do some jogging, to do some scrapbooking, sewing, shopping ... briefly said ... just do what I feel like doing ...

Vroeger ben ik altijd heel sportief geweest, en 12 jaar aan een stuk heb ik heel intensief ijshockey gespeeld. Maar sinds ik naar Zweden ben verhuisd, heb ik dat opgegeven, en lag het sporten op een laag pitje. Voor het werk moet ik veel gaan eten met klanten, en de laatste jaren waren er dan ook een aantal kilootjes bijgekomen, die er maar moeilijk weer afgeraken. Op een vaste basis een sport beoefenen is, door mijn onregelmatig beroepsleven, niet mogelijk, daarom dat ik het idee kreeg om te beginnen lopen want geef toe, een paar loopschoenen neemt niet veel plaats en kan je overal mee naartoe nemen.

Ondertussen stonden die schoenen hier al 7 weken te pronken, maar omdat alle wegen nog besneeuwd en glad waren, kon ik helaas niet beginnen trainen. Maar de laatste week is het goed beginnen dooien en de hoofdwegen zijn nu toch sneeuw- en ijsvrij, dus gisteren ben ik voor de eerste keer gaan lopen.

En het viel eigenlijk best mee, en wat vooral leuk is, is dat ik in een heel heuvelachtig gebied woon, en temidden van prachtige natuur, dus op mijn half uurtje sporten, ben ik maar 1 auto tegengekomen, en heb ik ondertussen geweldig kunnen genieten van de omgeving.

Een aantal uren later kreeg ik pijn aan mijn scheenbenen en wogen mijn voeten 100 kg, dus ik dacht dat ik vandaag een wrak zou zijn maar ik werd heel fris wakker, en ik voelde niets. Blijkbaar zal mijn trainingsschema dan toch goed zijn aangepast voor mijn lichaam. Nu mag ik even rusten, en dinsdag ga ik voor de tweede keer lopen. Ik kijk er al naar uit.

Op de foto zie je mij als kleine paggader toen ik nog niet kon stappen, laat staan lopen. Rondkijken vanuit mijn wippertje was het enige wat ik kon ;-))

When I was younger, I have always been very active in sports, and during 12 year I have played icehockey very intensively. But since I moved to Sweden, I stopped this, and sporting has not been op my top ten priority list anymore. For my job, I have to go out and eat often with customers, and the last couple of years, I have thus gained some kilo's. Doing sports on a regular basis is, due to my job, not possible, so that's why the idea started to take place to start to run, because a pair of running shoes doesn't take much place, and you can take it everywhere with you.

In the meantime my new shoes stood here for about 7 weeks, but due to the snow and ice on the roads I couldn't start training. But the last week it has started to melt really well, and the bigger roads are now ice- and snowfree so yesterday I went jogging for the first time.

And it was actually quit OK, and what is fun, I live in a very hilly area and in the middle of beautiful nature, so while doing half an hour of sports, I only met 1 car and in the meantime I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

A couple of hours later I got muscle pain in my legs and my feet felt like they were weighing 100 kilo so I thought today would be even worse, but I wake up really fresh and I don't feel any muscle pains at all. So I guess I have the good training scheme. Now I can relax my body and on Tuesday I will go for my second jogging session. I'm already looking forward to it.

On the picture you see me when I could not even walk, so certainly I was not able to do some jogging. Just looking around was the only thing I was able of doing ;-))

Oeioeioei, zijn we alweer een week verder? Deze week is echt zomaar voorbij geroetsjt. Maar het was wel een leuke week op het werk. We hadden produkttraining, naar aanleiding van het lanceren van onze nieuwe produkten, en samen met 45 collega's van over de hele wereld hebben we alles geleverd over deze nieuwe produkten.

Deze ochtend heb ik een foto toegevoegd aan mijn banner op mijn blog. Ik ben nogal een groen mens (al jaren vegetariër, proberen consuminderen, werken in een heel milieuvriendelijk bedrijf, ...) dus een groene foto kon natuurlijk niet uitblijven. Misschien ook dat het toch een beetje begint te kriebelen, en dat ik door de sneeuw nu toch ook probeer te speuren of ik al wat bloemetjes kan terugvinden ... In elk geval, mijn blog is altijd bewust in de groene kleur opgemaakt, en ik ben van plan om nu en dan de foto te vervangen door een andere groene foto ...

Een hele tijd geleden al maakte ik deze layout van een schoolfeestje van mij, jaren geleden in de kleuterklas. Hij is gemaakt naar een voorbeeld dat op het scrapforum werd geplaatst, en zoals gewoonlijk heb ik die schets heel wat vereenvoudigd. Less is altijd more bij mij ... misschien ook wel een vorm van consuminderen ;-))

This morning, I have placed a picture in the banner of my blog. I'm kinda green (I'm a vegetarian already for many, many years, I try to consume less, I work in a very environmental friendly company, ...) so of course it had to be a "green" picture. Perhaps I start to long after spring also, and through the snow I try to find the first flowers ... In any case, it has always been deliberately that my blog was made in the green colour, and I'm now planning on changing my picture every now and then by another green picture ...

Quit a while ago, I made this layout about a school party, many, many years ago. It is made after a sketch that was placed at the scrapbook forum I'm joining, and as usual I have made it much more plain and simple. Less is always more for what I consider, and perhaps that's also a way of trying to consume less ...

Wat vliegt de tijd toch altijd voorbij !!! Ik lig momenteel op hotel in bed wat op mijn laptop te tokkelen. Straks nog een uurtje rijden naar kantoor, en dan ga ik er eens goed invliegen. Morgen werk ik nog een dagje van thuis om goed door mijn werk te kunnen geraken en dan is het alweer weekend, eens lekker genieten is de remedie die ik mezelf ga voorschrijven ;-))

Time is always flying away so fast !!! For the moment, I'm still in bed, in a hotel and playing around with my laptop. Soon I will take my drive to the office, and will try to have a productive day. Tomorrow I will work from home to make sure that I can work very efficiently. and then it's weekend already. Enjoying myself during the weekend, is the prescription I will give to myself ;-))

Momenteel ben ik een weekendje in België, en daar naai ik altijd verder aan een werkje dat daar blijft liggen, zodoende hoef ik dat niet altijd over en weer te sleuren tussen Zweden en België. Tijdens de kerstvakantie had ik er veel aan genaaid, en op de foto hieronder zien jullie tot waar ik gekomen was. Dit weekend heb ik er weer een beetje aan genaaid, het is een leuk werkje om te doen. Tijdens de paasvakantie kom ik terug 12 dagen naar België op verlof, en ik ben er zeker van dat hij dan wel zal af zijn, dus ik zat mijn moeder te bespreken dat ik dan iets anders moest maken voor haar ...

En toen toverde ze opeens deze HAED te voorschijn die ze blijkbaar al maaaaaaaaaaaanden had liggen, voor tegen dat de teddybeer ging af zijn ;-))

Dus dit wordt het volgende werk waar ik hier in België ga aan werken, ik zal er zeker een paar jaartjes zoet mee zijn !!!! In Zweden werk ik trouwens ook aan een HAED, een ander kersttafereel, en er ligt nog een reserve HAED klaar ook, ook een kersttafereel dat ligt te wachten voor binnen een paar jaar. Dus de komende jaren kan ik nog even verder met deze 3 HAED's ;-)) Maar ze zijn wel heel fijn om te naaien ...

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ At this moment, I am a weekend in Belgium, and I always have a cross stitching work there also, so I don't always have to move one between Sweden and Belgium. During the Christmas period I have been stitching quit a lot on that work, and on the first picture you can see what I had done until then. This weekend I have stitched some more on it, it's such a lovely work to make. During the Easter period, I will again be 12 days in Belgium, and I'm sure that I will finish it by then, so I was discussing with my mother that I had to start another work for her ...

And then, all of a sudden, she took out the HAED that you see on the second picture. Apparently she had this one already waiting for mooooooooooooooooonths, waiting for the moment when the teddybear was going to be finished.

So this will be the next work I will be working on in Belgium, I'm sure it will keep me busy for a couple of years !!! By the way, in Sweden I'm also working on a HAED, also a Christmas pattern, and I also have another one lying there for me to start, also a Christmas pattern. So the next coming years, the HAED's will keep me pretty busy. But they are so much fun to stitch ...

En hups, het is alweer weekend. Ik ga beginnen met het minst leuke, namelijk mijn huis eens grondig onder handen nemen en schoonmaken. Daarna kan ik de rest gebruiken om nog wat boeken te lezen, dia's in te scannen en wat te scrappen. Ik heb gisterenavond nog wat gescrapt en ik heb iets leuks op de scraptafel liggen.

Ondertussen is het bijna maart (waar vliegt die tijd toch naartoe?) en ik heb nog altijd de kalender niet getoond die ik voor mijn ma had gemaakt als nieuwjaarskadootje. Hieronder alvast de eerste pagina, voor januari ...

Ondertussen hebben we gisteren voor de eerste keer in 3 maanden plusgraden op de thermometer zijn verschijnen, en al was het maar +2, direkt begon er een heel stuk sneeuw weg te smelten. Positief voor die zware pakken sneeuw op het dak. Maar het is nog niet voorbij hoor, de komende dagen verwachten we natuurlijk nog een heel deel nieuwe sneeuw ;-))

And hups, it's weekend again !! I will start the weekend with the less amusing of all, namely cleaning my house. After this I have the rest of the weekend time for reading some books, the scanning of slides, and doing some scrapbooking. I have started a new scrapbooking page yesterday evening, and I think it will be something nice.

In the meantime it's almost March (where is time going?), and I still didn't show the calender that I made for my mum as a newyears present. On the picture you see the first page for January.

In the meantime, yesterday, we have seen the first +-degrees since 3 months, and even if it was only +2 degrees, the snow started to melt directly very fast. Very positive for the big piles of snow on the roofs. But it's not over yet, the next coming day, we are expecting of course quit a lot of new snow ;-))

Vorige maand verjaarde mijn nicht en voor haar maakte ik deze kaart. Een beetje anders dan de stijl die ik normaal heb, maar ik vond het eigenlijk wel leuk. En ik vind die muisjes toch zo schattig !!!

Sinds een paar dagen hebben we hier in Zweden een sneeuwstorm, waarbij de wind rond het huis huilde en de sneeuw alle kanten opvloog. Toen ik gisteren buitenging, en me een weg probeerde banen naar de garage, zakte ik tot aan mijn poep in de sneeuw !! Dit is toch de meeste sneeuw die ik hier ooit gezien heb, sinds dat ik in Zweden woon.

In het begin van het jaar heb ik mij het voornemen genomen dat ik elke maand een layout zou maken over de voorbije maand. Ik vind dat er zoveel kleine dingen gebeuren die we zo snel vergeten, en daarom wou ik ze blijvend herinneren door te scrappen. Da's toch uiteindelijk ook de bedoeling van scrappen he, het dagelijks leven noteren en onthouden. Alvast hieronder mijn eerste opgetekende maand. Ik vind het leuk dat ik nu deze herinnering heb van afgelopen maand, en ben er zeker van dat ik dit de volgende maanden ook ga doen ...

Since a couple of days, we have a real snowstorm here in Sweden where I live, and the wind was howling around the house, and the snow was flying to all possible directions. Going out yesterday, and trying to get to the garage, I went into the snow up onto my bottom. This must be the heighest level of snow I have seen here in Sweden, since I live here !!

In het beginning of the year, I had made a promise to myself that I would make a layout every month of the month that had just passed. I find that there are happening so many different small things that we often forget so fast, and that's why I wanted to scrapbook them as a lasting memory. I think that that is the real meaning of scrapbooking, note down the small things of live to be remembered forever. On the pictures you see the result of the first month's work. I really like to have a memory now of the month that has just passed, and I'm sure I will be doing this also the next months to come ...

Schaapjes tellen ¤¤¤¤ Counting sheep

Ik naai graag hele grote werken, maar mijn ma daarentegen, maakt liever kleinere werkjes die sneller klaar zijn. Natuurlijk kan je ze niet blijven ophangen, want wat moet je er op de duur allemaal mee aanvangen? Maar de laatste tijd hebben we er wat op gevonden ...

Ongeveer een jaar geleden heb ik eens een handwerkje verwerkt op een scrapbook layout. Het gaf een heel leuk resultaat, en van sindsdien voelt mijn ma zich geroepen om allerlei kleine lapjes voor mij te naaien die ooit eens zullen gescrapt worden. Dit was er eentje dat ze een aantal weken geleden afhad. Zijn de schaapjes niet ongelooflijk lief?

I really like to stitch big projects, but my mum on the other hand prefers to make smaller works, that can be finished faster. Of course, you can't keep hanging them on the wall, and what do you need to do with all of them in the end? But the latest time, we have found a solution ...

About a year ago I have used a little stitching work on a scrapbooking layout. It was a really nice result and since that time my mum is making all kind of smaller pieces that will be scrapbooked in the end. This was a project that she finished some weeks ago. Don't you think the sheep are the cutest?

Joehoe, en het is alweer weekend, weer een week die vliegensvlug is voorbijgevlogen, ondanks het feit dat ik de ganse week toch wel in Zweden was, zij het wel op verschillende plaatsen. Ik heb me voorgenomen om er deze avond eens een luie avond van te maken, maar er morgen en overmorgen eens lekker in te vliegen, zodat ik zondagavond fier op mijzelf kan zijn dat ik ook wel degelijk iets gedaan heb ;-))

Hieronder een dubbele layout die ik tijdens de kerstvakantie maakte. Een layout van mijn klasje toen ik 9 jaar was, langvervlogen tijd alweer.

Jippi, it's weekend already again. Another week that passed by really fast, although I was in Sweden the whole week, but on different places. I decided to make this Friday evening, a lazy Friday, but tomorrow and on Sunday I will really fly into it, so I can be proud about myself on Sunday night for really having done something usefull during the weekend ;-))

Afghan

De laatste weken heb ik redelijk wat genaaid aan deze afghan, en het is zoooooooooooooooo leuk. Het volgende blok is een vogeltje dat een draadje hangt te zwieren, en dit weekend zal ik dat blok ook wel afhebben. Het is zo verslavend dat ik iedere keer weer verder wil naaien !!!

The last couple of weeks, I have been working quit a lot on this afghan, and it's soooooooooooo nice to do. The next block is a bird that is swinging a rope, and I will have finished that block probably also this week. It's so addicting that I want to work further on this every time !!!

Mijn "Engelse week" is voorbij gevlogen. Het geeft altijd veel voldoening, als je je welkom voelt en ziet dat je verschillende mensen kan helpen bij hun projecten. Momenteel zit ik in de taxi op weg naar mijn eigen bedje, om morgen aan een "Zweedse week" te beginnen. Donderdag ben ik zelfs even een dagje in Stockholm, dat gebeurt meestal maar eens per jaar.

Zagen jullie de titel al van dit berichtje ... Ja, inderdaad, ik durf het aan om jullie nog iets te tonen, dat ik met kerstmis maakte ... Deze letters had ik vorig jaar al gekocht, en toen stonden ze "naakt" op de kast, maar dit jaar had ik tijd om ze ook te versieren ...

Nog een prettig begin van een nieuwe week ... Geniet ervan !!!!

My "English week" went really fast. It always gives a lot of pleasure when you feel welcome and when you notice that you can help a lot of people with their projects. At this moment, I'm in the taxi, on the way to my own bed, to start a "Swedish week" tomorrow. On Thursday I'm even a day in Stockholm, something that normally only happens once per year.

Did you notice the title of this post? ... Yes indeed, I dare to show you another something that I made during Christmas time. These letters, I had already bought last year, and then they were standing "naked" on the cabinet, but this year, I even had the time to dress them ...

Dit weekend was het berekoud in Zweden, maar ondanks de -24 graden Celcius die de thermometer aanwees, had ik zin om een wandeling te maken in het prachtige landschap. Ik had mijn camera mee, want zo een mooi sneeuwlandschap zien we niet alle dagen !!! Gekleed in verschillende laagjes, trok ik de koude tegemoet. Ik was goed beschermd, en had helemaal geen kou, alleen de eerste 10 minuten deed het verschrikkelijk pijn aan mijn kaken, mond, neus en luchtwegen vooraleer die een beetje aangepast waren aan de bijtende kou. Daarna was er geen enkel probleem meer, op het rare gevoel na dat de haartjes in mijn neus constant bevroren waren ;-))

Ik ben 2u gaan wandelen en in de hele tijd kwam ik maar 1 auto tegen, waarvan de chauffeur uitstapte om een praatje te maken, 4 andere dappere wandelaars die samen de hond uitlieten, een eenzame boer op zijn tractor, 5 reeën, en een stuk of 20 schapen en langharige koeien. Verder was het overal peis en vree ...

Bij elke meter die ik nam, kon ik wel een andere mooie foto nemen, en het was dan ook geen moeite om de 80 foto's te nemen die ik tijdens die wandeling had getrokken. Hieronder wil ik jullie graag laten meegenieten van een aantal mooie landschappen ... Veel bibberplezier ;-))

Last weekend it was really freezing cold in Sweden, and even when the thermometer was showing -11 degrees Fahrenheit, I really felt for a long walk in this nice environment. I took my camera along, because you don't see such a nice landscape every day !!! All dressed up in several layers, I went into the cold. I was well protected, so I really wasn't cold at all, except for my jaws, mouth, nose and airways, that really hurt the 10 first minutes, because they had to get used to the cold. After this there was no problem at all anymore, except for the funny feeling of the little hair in my nose that were freezing the whole time ;-))

I went walking during 2 hours, and the whole time, I just met 1 car, with a friendly man hopping out of his car to do a little chat, 4 other brave hickers that were out with their dog, a lonely farmer on this tractor, 5 roedeer, and around 20 sheep and long-haired cows. Other than this, it was just so quiet ...

Every meter I was going, I could take another beautiful picture, so it was not difficult to take 80 pictures during this walk. Here under I would like to enjoy some of the beautiful landscapes that I have crossed ... Lots of trembling and shivering ...

Al na 5 minuten zag ik de eerste reeën wegspringen. Tegen dat ik mijn handschoenen had uitgegooid, en mijn camera had aangedaan en scherpgezet, waren ze al bijna verdwenen, maar je ziet ze nog net op het nippertje in de bossen lopen, als je goed kijkt ;-))

Already after 5 minutes, I saw the first roedeer jumping around. By the time I had taken off my gloves, put on my camera and pointed it at the right direction, they were almost gone again, but you still see them running into the forest, if you look really closely ;-))

Nu denk je, waar komt zij nog mee af? Kerstmis?

Ach, ik loop een beetje achter in mijn leven ... Ik ben 2 weken geleden pas thuisgekomen na mijn verlof in België, en heb pas dit weekend tijd gehad om de foto's te bekijken die ik toen had genomen.

En omdat mijn ma dit jaar zelf haar kerstboomversiering had gemaakt, en ik die zo leuk vond, vond ik dat ik die toch nog maar moest tonen, zelfs al is het ondertussen al de laatste dag van januari. Juist op de valreep, zeg maar ...

En wat vinden jullie ervan, was de versiering niet schattig?

Well, I'm a bit behind on my own life, it seems ... I came home just 2 weeks ago from my holidays in Belgium and only this weekend I had time to watch my pictures that I had taken at that period.

And because my mum had made her own christmas decoration this year, and because I like it very much, I thought that I still had to show it to you, even it's already the last day of January. Just at the edge ...

Wat had ik nu weer voor ¤¤¤¤ I did it again

Deze avond was ik met klanten in één van onze showrooms, en de laatste collega die er was en op het punt stond om door te gaan, zei mij dat we gewoon de deur achter ons konden sluiten, als we naar buiten gingen.

We wandelenden een uurtje in de showroom, dronken een kop koffie, en besloten dan door te gaan. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan, we gaan buiten uit de showroom, in de hal, sluiten de deur van de showroom, en willen door de buitendeur naar de parkeerplaats lopen, maar ... we krijgen de buitendeur niet open. Blijkbaar had de laatste persoon in het gebouw de deur met een sleutel op slot gedaan. Daar sta je dan met je klanten, opgesloten in een hal.

Ik liep gauw alle verdiepingen af om te zien of er nog mensen in de andere bedrijven aan het werk waren, maar om half 6 nog volk vinden op het werk, kan in Zweden moeilijk zijn. We bleken nog de enigen in het gebouw te zijn !!!

Wat moet je dan !! Gelukkig had ik het GSM nr van onze receptioniste, de enige aan wie ik kon denken die eventueel een telefoonnr. moest hebben, van de mensen die in deze showroom werken. En ze nam gelukkig ook haar telefoon op en ging proberen de verantwoordelijke van onze gebouwen op te roepen.

Na een half uur kwam er opeens één van onze firmawagens op de parking gereden. Ik was nog nooit zo blij één van die auto's te zien. Bleek dat het een collega was, die toevallig nog wat ging ophalen op het werk, en zij had geen idee wat wij daar in die hall stonden te doen ;-))

In elk geval, we waren heel blij haar te zien en zonder het te weten, was zij onze held van de dag !!!! Wanneer mijn klanten naar Engeland terugkeren, zullen ze toch een leuke story overhouden om te vertellen ;-))

Op de foto een layout die ik in de kerstperiode maakte. Mijn ma, toen ze nog een jong meisje van 23 was ...

This evening, I was with 5 of our customers in one of our showrooms, and the last colleague that was there and was intending to go home, told me we could just close the door behind us when we left the building.

We walked in the showroom for an hour, we drank a coffee and then decided that it was time to go to the hotel. We go out of the showroom, in the hall, close the door of the showroom behind us, and want to go out of the outerdoor to the parkinglot, but ... we couldn't open the outerdoor !!! Apparently the last person in the building had closed the door with a key. And there you stand with your customers, locked up in a hall !!!

I quickly went up the stairs to see if there were still people left working in the other offices of that building, but finding people at work at 5.30 pm in Sweden, can be a difficult thing !!! We seemed to be the only once left in the building !!!!

So what do you do at such a moment !!! Fortunately I had the mobil phone number of our receptionist, the only person I could think of that might have one or another telephone number, of one of the people working in that showroom. Luckely she picked up her phone and promised to get hold of the responsible for all our buildings.

After half an hour, all of a sudden one of our company cars came driving onto the parking lot. I have never been more happy to see one of these cars. It was a colleague, that was intenting to get something at the office, and she didn't have a clue what we were doing there in that hall ;-))

Anyway, we were very happy to see her, and without she knowing it, she was our hero of the day !!!! When my customers fly home to England, they will at least remember a great story about Sweden ;-))

Wat gaat de tijd toch altijd snel als je een paar dagen op reis bent voor het werk !!! Even diep ademen en het is alweer vrijdag. Dinsdag ben ik naar Duitsland vertrokken omdat daar woensdag en donderdag een training doorging. Altijd heel vermoeiend. 2 hele dagen luisteren naar nieuwe informatie maar ook sociaal zijn tegen de andere 40 deelnemers die daar aanwezig zijn, van alle landen over de hele wereldbol, en zoveel mogelijk netwerken.

's Avonds zijn we met de hele groep gaan eten op de "Rheinturm" in Düsseldorf, een mediatoren van 240,5 meter hoog en op een hoogte van 172,5 meter bevindt zich een restaurant, dat ronddraait, waardoor je tijdens het eten vanuit de hoogte alle kanten van Düsseldorf kan bekijken.

Omdat het nogal een zware week is geweest, werk ik vandaag gewoon lekker van thuis, in mijn eigen omgeving en lekker rustig. De beste manier om die batterijen weer op te laden. En dit weekend ga ik dan eindelijk nog eens lekker scrappen.

We zijn bijna rond met het tonen van alle pagina's van mijn huishoudboekje. Dit is alweer de voorlaatste pagina voor november.

What is time going fast, when you are traveling some days for work !!! You take a deep breath and it's Friday again. On Tuesday I left for Germany because there was a training ongoing on Wednesday and Thursday. Always very tiring. Listening during 2 days to absorp much new information but also being sociable to 40 other participants that are present there from all over the globe, and doing so much networking as possible.

In the evening we went eating on the "Rheinturm" in Düsseldorf (see first picture), a mediatower of 240,5 meter high, and on a height of 172,5 meter, there is a turning restaurant, so during your meal you can see the whole of Düsseldorf from above. Really beautiful ...

Because it has been a very heavy week, I will work from home today, in my own space and quietness. The best way to recharge the batteries again. And this weekend I will finally be doing some scrapbooking again.

And we are almost ready with showning you all pages of my housekeeping book. This is the next last page for November, one more to go afterwards.

Weer thuis ¤¤¤¤ Back home again

Na een paar omzwervingen ben ik donderdagnamiddag dan toch thuisgekomen. Ook het water is ondertussen weer gerepareerd.

Iedere keer als ik wat langer weg ben van Zweden, en dan terugkom, zie ik opeens weer hoe mooi het in Zweden is. De rit van de luchthaven was fantastisch, een dik sneeuwtapijt, met daarop een stralende zon, overal schenen de kristalletjes ...

Hieronder een foto van een klein stukje van mijn voor- en zijtuin. Ik vond het licht zo mooi dat ik een foto moést nemen ...

Dit weekend had ik er graag eens op los gescrapt, maar het is ietwat saaier uitgedraaid. Ik had op mijn computer van het werk meer dan 70 CD's staan, die ik nog altijd eens moest branden. Vorige week had de IT-afdeling me verwittigd dat dat te veel ruimte in beslag nam, en dat ik dat moest verwijderen. Zodus zit ik al 2 dagen CD's te branden, maar gelukkig begin ik nu het einde te zien. Ik kijk dus eigenlijk nog altijd uit naar een heerlijk vrij weekend, maar deze nieuwe week zal ook wel heel vlug voorbij gaan, zodat dat weekend er snel zal zijn.

Morgen een dag op kantoor waarbij ik weet dat ik werk van 3 dagen in 1 dag ga moeten verzetten, dan dinsdag een meeting in één van onze filialen en diezelfde namiddag alweer naar de luchthaven op weg naar Duitsland, waar ik woensdag en donderdag een cursus volg. Ik weet nog niet of ik donderdag of vrijdag naar huis komt, dat hangt er nog een beetje van af. Maar in elk geval, met zo een druk programma, zal het al wel weer heel snel weekend zijn ;-))

Als jullie je broodbeleg beu zijn, en eens iets origineels willen, snij dan wat mango en komkommer in blokjes, en wentel dit door een paar lepels van die dikke Griekse yoghurt. Mmmmm, heerlijk, dat ga ik straks eten. En de rest gaat morgen gewoon mee in mijn lunchtrommel als sidedish bij mijn Indische curry die ik deze middag maakte. Smakelijk !!!

After some extra trips, I finally came home on Thursday afternoon. And the water is in the meantime also repared.

Every time I'm away a little longer from Sweden, and then return, I see again how beautiful Sweden really is. The trip from the airport was really fantastic, a thick snow carpet, with a beautiful shining sun on top of it, everywhere were cristals shining ...

On the picture you see a small part of my front and side garden. The light was só beautiful that I hád to take a picture.

This weekend I felt like scrapbooking the whole time, but it turned out a little more dull. In my laptop of work I had more than 70 CD's standing, that I still had to burn down. Last week the IT department had informed me that that took too much place and that I had to take them away. So the last 2 days, I have done nothing else than burning CD's but luckely I start to see the end now. So actually I'm still longing after a nice free weekend, but this new week will be over very soon also, so soon a new weekend will be there.

Tomorrow 1 day at the office, where I will have to work hard because I have 3 days of work to do in 1 day, on Tuesday a meeting in one of the daughter companies and in the afternoon, I'm on the way to the airport again, because I will be following a course in Germany on Wednesday and Thursday. I don't know if I will be coming home on Thursday or Friday, that still depends. But anyway, with such a busy schedual, it will soon be weekend again ;-))

If you are tired of what you are eating on your bread, and you want to try something original, cut some cucumber and mango in small squares and turn them in around in some spoons of that wonderful Greek fat yoghurt. Mmmmm, lovely, that's what I will be eating tonight. And the rest will follow me to work tomorrow as a sidedish to the Indish curry I made this afternoon. Enjoy !!!

Huishoudboekje oktober ¤¤¤¤ Housekeeping book October

Niet veel geluk met het luchtverkeer deze week. Zondag kon ik niet naar Zweden wegens ijzel. Dinsdag vloog ik dan maar van Brussel direct naar Genève voor het werk. Gisteren wilde ik de vlucht terugnemen met tussenstop in Brussel, maar mocht niet op het eerste vliegtuig dat vertraging had, en daardoor zijn connectie in Brussel ging missen. Dan maar omgeboekt via Frankfurt, maar door vertraging van dat vliegtuig en het feit dat het vliegtuig dan ook cirkeltjes moest zweven over de landingsbaan wegens een fout van de toren, en zo nog eens een extra 15 minuten vertraging opliep, was onze connectie daar ook riebedebie. Dus overnachting in Frankfurt !!! Ze maken het me moeilijk om mijn huisje in Zweden terug te zien ;-))

En gisterenavond belde dan ook een vriend die op mijn huis paste, dat mijn waterleidingen gesprongen waren !! Ja, wat wil je met zo een koud weer, als het water in de leidingen stilstaat. Hij ging vandaag bellen om te zien hoe snel dit euvel verholpen kon worden. Hopelijk kunnen ze het euvel snel repareren, en moet ik niet eerst wachten tot de kou een beetje milder wordt, want dan ziet het er nog niet echt goed uit !!!

Ondertussen was ik nog niet klaar met het tonen van het huishoudboekje dat ik voor mijn ma maakte. Hieronder zien jullie de pagina voor oktober.

Not much luck with the air traffic this week. On Sunday I couldn't go back to Sweden due to icy roads. So then I flew directly to Geneva from Brussels on Tuesday, because of work. Yesterday I wanted to take the flight back to Sweden with a transfer in Brussels, but was not allowed to take the first plane that was delayed, because that would make me miss my connection in Brussels. So they re-booked me via Frankfurt, but due to the delay of that plane also, and the fact that the aircraft needed to turn in the air for about 15 minutes, due to a mistake of the control tower, that connection was gone also. So I had to stay the night in Frankfurt instead !!! They really make it difficult for me to see my little house in Sweden back ;-))

In the meantime I was not finished yet with showing you the housekeeping book that I made for my mum. On the picture is the page for October.

En zo is het gewone leven weer in gang. Ik zit nog steeds in België, wegens ijzel ben ik zondag niet naar Zweden vertrokken. Deze namiddag vlieg ik naar Genève, waar ik morgen een laboratorium zal bezoeken, en morgennacht kom ik dan, na meer dan een maand, weer thuis op mijn vertrouwde stekje in Zweden. Ik kijk er al naar uit om dit weekend eens naar hartelust te scrappen !!! Ik ga ervan genieten !!!

And so the normal life is ongoing again. I'm still in Belgium for the moment. Due to the bad weather conditions on Sunday, I didn't leave for Sweden. This afternoon, I will fly off to Geneva, where I will visit a laboratory, and tomorrow night, I will finally come home in Sweden to my usual place. I'm already looking forward to a scrapbooking weekend at home !!! I will enjoy it !!

Ondertussen blijft het maar winteren in België. Voor morgen en overmorgen worden zware sneeuwproblemen verwacht. Zondag neem ik normaal het vliegtuig naar Zweden, maar er wordt rekening mee gehouden dat er vluchten zullen worden geschrapt. Als je wil, kan je je vlucht verzetten naar een latere datum. Ik zit een beetje in een dilemma, want als ik dinsdag alweer naar Genève, dus dan is het niet echt leuk om maandagavond 2 uur in de sneeuw van de luchthaven naar huis te rijden en dinsdagochtend vroeg alweer terug op te rijden. Misschien zelfs gemakkelijker om helemaal niet naar Zweden te gaan, en direct van hier naar Zwitserland te vliegen? Ik bekijk het nog allemaal een beetje, en zie wel of er morgen inderdaad sneeuw uit de lucht valt. Ik hou jullie op de hoogte waar ik ergens uithang ;-))

In the meantime, winter is keep on going in Belgium. For tomorrow and Sunday, they are expecting big snowproblems. On Sunday, I will normally take a flight back to Sweden, but they are taking into account that they will have to cancel flights. If wanted, the airline is offering to postphone your flight. I don't know very well what to do for the moment, because on Tuesday I have to fly to Geneva again, and then it is not so fun to drive 2 hours in the snow from the airport to my home on Monday evening, and back already to the airport on Tuesday morning. Maybe it would be easier to not fly at home in Sweden at all and just fly directly to Geneva on Tuesday? I will check the weather forcast every now and then and see if there is really snow tomorrow. I'll keep you posted where I will be ;-))

Kerstkaartje voor mijn nicht ¤¤¤¤ Christmas card for my niece

Al de 5de dag van het jaar, en ik heb nog niets van me laten horen op mijn blog. Dat komt omdat ik de laatste 4 dagen doorgebracht heb in Frankrijk, meerbepaald in Normandië. Het was er koud, maar niet zo berekoud als vorig jaar, of komt dat omdat ik mezelf nog beter had ingepakt?

Je hebt van mij nog een paar kerstkaartjes tegoed, want ik wou de verrassing voor de ontvanger niet verprutsen. Daarom hier nu het kaartje dat ik naar mijn nicht had gestuurd.

Already the 5th day of the year, and I hadn't written anything on my blog. That's because I was in France the last 4 days, more specific in Normandy. It was cold over there, but not so freezing cold as last year, or perhaps that's because I wrapped myself even better than last year?

I still have to show some X-mas cards but I didn't want to spoil the fun for the receiver. That's why I show you this card only now.

En voila, 2009 is alweer bijna ten einde. Vorig jaar heb ik een hele lijst goede voornemens gemaakt, waarvan ik er redelijk wat heb gehouden en ook een aantal niet heb afgekregen. Daarom hou ik mijn voornemens voor 2010 heel simpel, gewoon verder werken aan de voornemens van 2009. Aangezien ik die niet slecht vond, zet ik ze gewoon door in het nieuwe jaar !!

Op de foto zien jullie een kerstkaartje dat ik maakte voor mijn beste vriendin. In het nieuwe jaar zullen we elkaar alweer 21 jaar kennen !! Wat vliegt de tijd toch snel !!!

And so 2009 has almost ended also. Last year I made a big list of good intentions of which I kept quit a lot, but I also had quit some that I didn't finish in time. That's why I keep my good intentions for 2010 really simple : just continuing with the same intentions from last year. Because I didn't find them so bad anyway, I will just keep on going with them !!!

On the picture, you see the X-mas card that I made for my best friend. In the new year, we will be knowing each other for already 21 years !!! Time is just flying !!!

There is no business like snow business

Vandaag is mijn verjaardag ... Kan het zijn dat je dat op een bepaalde leeftijd niet zo erg fijn meer vindt ??? ;-))

Ik ga in elk geval de dag gewoon beginnen met een tandartsbezoek en daarna niets speciaals.

Op de layout zie je me toen ik iets jonger was, een jaar of 6, met mijn mamie in het park om sneeuwballen te gooien ;-))

Today is my birthday ... Could it be that one doesn't like that so much anymore at a certain age??? ;-))

I will start the day with a visit to the dentist and then nothing special anymore.

Goeiemorgen !! Hebben jullie al een fijn kerstweekend achter de rug? Hier hebben we ondertussen al lekker veel niets speciaals gedaan - wandelen, eten, lezen, scrappen, genieten, ... - en dat is heerlijk !!

Hieronder zien jullie een deurhanger die ik gemaakt had om aan de voordeur te hangen bij mijn ma, alleen is het model van de klink aan de deur zo raar, dat het niet lukte om hem eraan te hangen ;-(( De deurhanger hangt nu binnen in de living aan het raam ... Ook goed natuurlijk !

Goodmorning !! Have you been enjoying the last couple of X-mas days? Over here we have been doing lots of nothing special - walking, eating, reading, scrapbooking, enjoying our time, ... - and that's just great !!

On the picture you see a doorhanger that I had made to hang at the door of my mother's appartment, only the model of the door was so strange, that we didn't succeed to hang it over there ;-(( It hangs now at a window in the living room instead, which is also good of course !

Dit kaartje maakte ik eigenlijk 2 maand geleden al, voor mijn allerliefste mamie ;-))

Het was leuk om eens een ander modelletje te maken dan normaal ...

Voor iedereen die vanavond of morgen kerst viert, geniet ervan, met een lekker hapje en drankje, en vooral fijne mensen om je heen !!

It was nice to make another shape of card then what I normally make.

Aanleg E3 ¤¤¤¤ Building of the E3

Het was al heeeeeeeeeeeeel lang geleden dat ik nog eens iets gescrapt had, wegens veel te druk, maar nu ik vakantie heb, had ik er toch echt wel superveel zin in. Dit is een layout over de aanleg van de E17, toen nog E3 genaamd, vlak tegen waar mijn ouders woonden. Wat ik altijd zo leuk vind aan scrapbooking, is dat saaie foto's toch nog iets leuks kunnen worden, eens ze gescrapt zijn ...

It has been ages since I last scrapbooked something, due to "too busy", but now I'm on holidays, I really felt like making something again. This is a layout about the making of the big highway E17, at that time called E3, right where my parents lived. What I always like about scrapbooking, is that boring pictures can turn into something nice once that have been scrapbooked ...

Pizza en een sneeuwwandeling ¤¤¤¤ Pizza and a walk in the snow

Voor mijn werk moet ik heel vaak op restaurant gaan eten, en dan is het vaak heel moeilijk om gezonde voeding te eten, terwijl ik thuis al meer dan 16 jaar vegetariër ben, en het toch wel belangrijk vind om gezond te eten. Nu ik 3 weken thuis ben, heb ik besloten de hele tijd meer aandacht aan mijn voeding te besteden, en lekkere dingen te maken van "scratch". Normaalgezien eet ik op vrijdag altijd een diepvriespizza als ik van het werk kom, omdat ik meestal niet veel fut meer heb, om nog achter het fornuis te staan. Maar gisteren heb ik zelf een hele lekkere pizza gemaakt, volgeladen met lekkere groentjes. Dat duurt in feite maar 10 minuten, en het resultaat begint eerst heerlijk te geuren, als het in de oven zit, en daarna kan je genieten van een heerlijke, gezonde pizza. Hieronder op de foto zie je het resultaat vooraleer de pizza de oven in ging. Ziet dat er niet heerlijk uit?

Aangezien het gisteren zo mooi aan het sneeuwen was (vandaag trouwens opnieuw), hebben we een heerlijke wandeling in de buurt gemaakt, en heb ik ook mijn fotocamera meegenomen om het mooie, witte landschap vast te leggen. In mijn ma haar tuin staan struiken met van die pluimpjes op, en ik vond ze zo mooi, nu ze besneeuwd waren ...

Tijdens de wandeling hebben mijn ma en ik het kind uitgehangen, en hebben ons in het park languit in de sneeuw gegooid. Hieronder zie je me in de sneeuw liggen, tijdens een enorme lachbui ...

Koekoe, wie is daar? ... ;-))

En hier mijn ma, vooraleer ze een sneeuwballen-aanval op haar dochter zal in gang zetten ... ;-))

Momenteel is het nog altijd hard aan het sneeuwen, en ziet alles weer mooi wit. Voor iedereen die straks naar buiten gaat ... veel sneeuwplezier !!!

For my work, I have to go and eat out very often, but then it is often very difficult to eat good and healthy food, while I have been vegetarian for more than 16 years, and find it important to eat healthy. Now that I'm at home during 3 weeks, I have decided to dedicate quit some time at healthy food and make more food from scratch. Normally on Friday, I always tend to take out a pizza from the freeze, because I don't feel like slaving over a hot stove anymore after a hard week of working. But yesterday I made my own pizza, fully loaded with the best vegetables. Making this takes only 10 minutes, and at first, the result starts to smell very well when it's in the oven, and then afterwards you can enjoy a yummie and healthy pizza. On the first picture, you see the result of the pizza, before it went into the oven. Doesn't it look delicious?

Because it was snowing so nicely yesterday (by the way, it is snowing again as we speak), we made a fantastic walk in the neighborhood, and I took my camera with me, to make some beautiful, white shoots. In my mother's garden there are plants which are now very beautiful with snow on and that is what you see on the second picture.

While walking, my mother and I suddenly ended up playing like little children, and in the park, we had thrown ourselves in the snow, so on the 3rd picture, you see myself lying in the snow while laughing out loud ...

On the picture underneath, I'm trying to hide behind a tree ...

And on the last picture you see my mum before she will start to throw snowballs to her daughter ... ;-)

For the moment, it's still snowing hard, and everything is nice and white again. For those who will go out later on ... have a lot of snowfun !!!

Joehoe !!! Ik wil alleen maar eens vertellen dat het vakantie is !!! Nog 2 daagjes efkes tussendoor nog wat werken, maar voor de rest zijn de boeken toe tot 10 januari. Ik ga er eens hard van genieten !!

Jippie !!! I just want to tell you that it's holiday. In between I will work 2 more days, but for the rest the books are now closed untill the 10th of January. I will really enjoy it !!
